DS is a poor writer and struggles with spelling. So far this term has done well as phonetically spelt words but this weeks spellings included Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs and yesterday. DS couldn't get them right despite loads of different ways to try and teach them.

He was getting upset so told him not to worry and rang teacher before school (I work so don't take him) and just mentioned he had practised them daily but was upset as couldn't get them right. She said again not to worry as only yr 2 and 6.2yo and spellings were just a practice for juniors.

OK no problems did the test and got 5/10 as got these 5 wrong and teacher has written 'well tried DS' with a Grin

AIBU to be a bit Hmm that she spelt his name wrong!!

Irony at its best Wink

I PMSL, especially when DS showed me and didn't notice himself Grin.

His name has the alternative spelling as Spanish relatives but both boys in the class use the same spelling as does another boy in the school - I was Shocked at that tbh. Talk about different being the norm Grin

See thats one of the words I can't spell, never can remember whether its an a or an e Smile

His teacher is lovely and obviously went out of her way to reassure him. Mindyou it could have been the TA who wrote it tbh.

My friend whos a teacher was a bit Shock that a teacher had spelt a pupils name wrong but I said the most important thing to me was the fact she was trying to reassure him - and I know he can spell his name its the other words he needs help with Grin
