to want to cry about my daughters boots!

(Disclaimer - I am under a fair ton of personal stress so behaving like a total loon anyway)

Went to by dd3 some boots today - she is 3. I thought we'd try M&S first as her feet were measured recently and I've had some decent stuff from them in the past. The stock selection was LAUGHABLE - nothing at all for her except for big suede slipper type things. So I went up to the till to ask if that was it because I couldn't believe my eyes - the lady said 'oh we have different colours' - like that helped Hmm So I asked her to pass on that I thought it was very poor! Off we went to Jones the Bootmaker who have £10 off at the moment. Tried on two or three styles, strugged slightly with her high instep but found a nie pair - which she wore home. Showed them off in the shops on the way and waved them in front of her older sisters in delight bless her. Got home to find that the damn damn damn zip on the right boot wouldn't go down. Finally got it off her foot and on comparison I can see the zipguard hasn't been constructed properly so that it has got stuck in the zip on first bloody use and is unwearble Sad So I ring the shop and of course this was the last pair and there are only 5 others in the country and so we have a pair coming from Ipswich and it could take 10 days. So I had to tell dd3 she can't wear them for a bit and I know it's pathetic but this is just the last straw! I have no reserves to deal with this sort of nonsense atm. I want to cry over BOOTS! Hmm

So AIBU (I warn you - I'll cry!)

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 05/11/2010 17:34

LynetteScavo · 05/11/2010 17:35

YANBU.

That is all I have to say.

phipps · 05/11/2010 17:36

I would be fed up too.

Hope the boots come very soon.

BudaisintheZONE · 05/11/2010 17:38

YANBU. Very frustrating.

AgentZigzag · 05/11/2010 17:38

Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate and YANBU to get upset about the straw that broke the camels back.

Is there really nothing you can do about the zip? Is it just miszipped IYSWIM? and you can jiggle it about to make the two sides go together? sorry if you've already tried that.

It's fucking frustrating when everything gets on top of you and grinds you into the floor.

brimfull · 05/11/2010 17:40

how fucking irritating

i have been going mental trying to find a new pair of boots for me
finally found some today see my saddo thread

the whole family is relieved ffs

Northernlurker · 05/11/2010 17:42

Unfortunately the leather that's obviously been cut too short iyswim has got caught so even if I could get it out the boots aren't as they should be. I paid £28 - £38 full price and I can't accept them like that - you can see the clear difference with the others. I suppose I should have looked over every damn inch of them. That's what my NHS colleagues call reflective practice 'Bugger, won't do that again'. Thanks for the support everyone - v comforting!

Is it possible that she can wear then until the replacements arrive though?

ForMashGetSmash · 05/11/2010 18:52

I bought those "suede slipper things" for my 2 year old and am very happy with them...

[humph emoticon]

Though I do see they are more toddler-like than is really ok for a three year old. Grin

Northernlurker · 05/11/2010 21:23

Oh don't humph Grin They're very nice - just that I wanted more boot like boots and have got some there for one or other girl for YEARS.
