for almost all of my pregnancy due to general feeling like crap I have not straightened my hair put on make up. Worn proper clothes (not trackies) outside of work.

So AIBU or should my husband notice that I have dressed up and done my make up and striaghtened my hair?

Feel a bit stupid now as he's been home sat across from me for a half hour and seems to not see any change.

He has however thanked me for tidying the bedroom. Good to see he notices some things Hmm

Perhaps he's frightened of upsetting you by pointing out that you look nice, in case you think he means you didn't look nice before.

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 16:27

Maybe.. that sounds like man thinking

BalloonSlayer · 05/11/2010 16:39

Why don't you just say:

"Do you like my hair? I've straightened it. And I've got make up on."

And give him a Paddington Hard Stare.

It's what I do.

MasonPearson · 05/11/2010 16:43

Did he tell you off for not straightening your hair or wearing makeup when you were pregnant?

If not, you can't have it both ways my dear Smile

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 16:49

Paddington Hard Stare.

I like that Grin

Mason that sounds like logic. Didn't come here looking for logic, just need everyone to say dh is a bastard. Help a hormonal pregnant woman.

BTW I normally have very long wild curly hair, so its pretty obvious when I striaghten it. I'm not being unfair expecting him to notice.

jamaisjedors · 05/11/2010 16:53

Maybe he honestly didn't notice (sounds like it).

Yesterday I wore the silk scarf DH bought for me while on a trip, I had to point it out to him at dinner-time.
Sad

It's v. frustrating though isn't it?

jamaisjedors · 05/11/2010 16:53

Actually he claimed he doesn't notice that kind of thing, but then an hour later he noticed I hadn't taken my mascara off to go to bed!

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 16:56

Oh jemais that is exaclty the sort of thing DH would do! and get annoyed I was going to ruin the pillow... sigh

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/11/2010 16:56

DH probably wouldn't notice. But then he doesn't notice when I look like shite and am channelling Waynetta Slob (am also pg and being rather slack with grooming) so I can't have it both ways I think Grin

jonesy71 · 05/11/2010 16:59

Bastard

I had about four inches cut off and then dyed, nothing.

Bastard

feeling any better?

Smile
FindingGuysMojo · 05/11/2010 17:02

could it be that he loves you for you, for the person you are rather than how you look & regardless of what state your hair is in or if you have make up on or not?

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 17:03

Thank you Jonesy. That actually does make me feel better.
:)

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 17:07

I put on comfy spotted pjs.

With bump, I look like a spotty backwards turtle. See if he notices that.

Snorbs · 05/11/2010 17:14

Maybe he prefers your hair when it's curly rather than straight, bastard that he is.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 05/11/2010 17:20

my DB (Darling Bastard that is) is exactly the same!!

The bastard!

I wait all day for him to notice something and get peed off after hours or preening and twirling and come out with soe spiteful comment like "I take it you don't like my curly/straight hair? Hmm?"

"Oh yes dear looks lovely"

Bastard.

jonesy71 · 05/11/2010 17:21

spotty backwards turtle Grin

When I was heavily pregnant I wore a dark pink jumper and my friend kept squinting at me - 'what do you remind me of?' and then spat her coffee out when she realised 'it's Mr Greedy!!' she squeeeealed.

called her a Bastard an all.

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 17:30

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts, yes, the bastard Angry

so many bastards jonesy71, why are there so many bastards? Why are there more than ever when you are pregnant?

OP posts:
SkylineDrifter · 05/11/2010 18:56

He's a bastard.

evildead2 - forget the spotty pyjamas, go strip off and sit down naked and read a magazine - if he doesn't notice that then he's an even bigger bastard than first thought.

ForMashGetSmash · 05/11/2010 20:48

My DH noticed that my face has got fatter whilst he's been working abroad!

Sad He said this morning on the Skype..."have you got a swollen face? Are you ill?" and I shrieked NO! I'M FAT! And banged the laptop shut....twas' mighty awful..

I am now on a crash diet....apart from the box of celebrations I just ate...they were in honour of Guy Fawkes. Smile

theevildead2 · 05/11/2010 21:01

Oh FMGS, the bloody bastardness of him.

Proper bastard. Like telly, webcam does add 10 pounds (maybe 20) so skip the diet and relax with your sweets (if you've got any left Grin)
