I invited my sister round tomorrow night with her DP and her DS.

We planned to buy some fireworks and let the kids watch.

I told her I would do dinner.

So then my mum hears and says she might pop round, whic is fine. then dad is coming too, which is of course fine too.

Now my sister (17) is coming along.

My gran heard me talking about it and told my aunt (who has a DS the same age as my kids) that were having a BONFIRE PARTY.

Now shes no doubt wondering why shes not been invited and my mum took me to get a small bit of shopping today for tomorrow night and she buys a load of fir works and buys party platters, fudge cake, pork pies etc

and asks what buffet is there!!

so i ended up buying buffet food (jacket pots, quiche, cheese, sausage rolls etc....)

so now it DOES look like a bloody party and I don't know whether to invite my aunt aher son

arghhhhh

Sounds great....what time do you want us? Grin

TryLikingClarity · 04/11/2010 19:21
Grin

Just grin and bear it OP, you might have fun.

Tell people to bring nibbles/drinks themselves to save you on having to do everything.

TotorosOcarina · 04/11/2010 19:22

oh know but I'm a miserable fucker Grin

That's lovely....I'll just need your postcode to put in the SatNav!! There's 4 of us, all big eaters Grin

comeandsitbythefire · 04/11/2010 19:26

You might enjoy it, I would. Staying up and seeing the weekend in, watching those lovely fireworks. I'm sure people will help you out. Have fun, and invite more...

complexnumber · 04/11/2010 19:27

I'll bring the salads, can you make sure there is something for the kids to play with, the youngest is being such a pain these days. But then I know you will cope.

Actually, do you mind if I pop out for a few hours and pick the kids up later?

Normally the plans that are spur of the moment turn out to be the best. Enjoy invite them all and get everyone to bring a bottle and nibbles.

Have a wonderful evening Grin

Firawla · 04/11/2010 19:36

I would just invite her now, as it seems to have been turned into a party anyway so why not

ForMashGetSmash · 04/11/2010 19:40

I have nobody to invite and my DH is working away...so me andd the DCs are alone...you are being selfish....at least you have people who are pleased to come.

QuantaCosta · 04/11/2010 19:42

Exactly same has happened to me. Instead of a few fireworks with the kids then X-factor I now have to cater spend half cleaning and tidying up then catering for the hoards descending on us!!

BangingNoise · 04/11/2010 19:44

Sounds like a party to me. I'll bring some wine Grin

TotorosOcarina · 04/11/2010 19:44

Ermmm I don't think I'm being selfish Hmm

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with 3 small kids and inviited my sister round for some fireworks and have ended up doing a buffet for potentially another 6 adults and 4 kids!

chandra · 04/11/2010 19:47

Can I come too? I can bring some pizza to add to the buffet.

TotorosOcarina · 04/11/2010 19:49

can you bring dominos pizza? if so then yes you can!

OP posts:
chandra · 04/11/2010 19:52

ok... I will need to drive to the next town to get it but as long as I don't end in another party get distracted I might be able to manage

DurhamDurham · 04/11/2010 21:20

TotorosOcarina you are def not being selfish, I think it has got a bit out of hand (what with lots of MNetters turning up!) but it might be best to have them all, make them help, give them all a job and ensure the tidying up is all done before they leave!

Hope you have a lovely night Smile
