I know I'm being over sensitive but was walking in town and a passed a woman who then gave me a funny look. I looked back and she said the above. I replied no I didn't and she said "you brushed my hand". Now I feel really wound up and am sitting in Starbucks wanting to cry.

I realise I'm completely over reacting but feel horrible. Maybe the wrong place to post this.

Yep, this is just one of those things and, of course, other people are mad Grin.

A random incident from my week as proof: I was queuing up to get down the railway-station platform stairs the other day (always a big crush when everyone gets off the train), and a bloke said 'Excuse me' in a very elaborate way in my general direction. When I looked at him, slightly puzzled, he said loudly 'We'll all get there in the end - no need to push.' I hadn't even touched him. Seriously - people are mad....! Maybe he's related to your woman, OP.

sounds like this was just the last straw for you. Cake deffo in order!

Glad to help! Remember that weird thing called Happy Slapping which sprung up a few years ago? Basically someone would unexpectedly smack a total stranger around the head and record the reaction. Well, I used to worry that someone had seen my accident and copied it and that I unintentionally started it. Because that's how sudden and random it must have looked to passers-by.

I like that response Ormirian.
It was a bit chipmonkey. I have been struggling a little lately. DD is only 12 weeks so still getting to grips with baby logistics and dips in mood.

Must eat cake :)

Quint, what did you say/do, I would have rammed her trolley backwards into her very very hard

QuintessentialShadows · 04/11/2010 17:12

I think I replied something along the lines of "YOU rammed me, so I think you are the one with eyes at the back of your head rather than the front, not me" I think it was lost on her.

newwave · 04/11/2010 17:19

Probably right, she sounds like a right chav.

scarylooker · 04/11/2010 19:05

I know exactly what you mean, I get upset over things like that. Just a few weeks ago I was in a queue of traffic and I stopped to let a car out of a side road (well stopped and flashed her to come out) - and the driver just turned round as she pulled out and gave me the finger! I mean, why?!

My DH always says you can't change the way some people behave, but you can change how you let it affect you. Just assume she's a miserable cow having a crappy day and try not to dwell on it.
