By roasting cubes of potato and parsnip the same size? They ate the lot!! and parsnip would normally illicit the "Ewwwwww...dis-GUS-ting!!!!" response.

I am feeling very smug Smile

LadyThumb · 03/11/2010 17:47

Ooooh, good for you - now tell me how to disguise whole tomatoes and mushrooms!!!

FreudianSlimmery · 03/11/2010 17:49

We have given my DSDs sweet potato, swede and parsnip by mixing it in with regular mash. Really tasty actually :)

mimps · 03/11/2010 17:50

never got as far as disguising mushrooms i'm afraid...but a splat of creme fraiche changes the colour and texture of the tommy sauce [am evil mum and been at this for years smiley]

Ooh I love parsnip! Can I have some?

MrsVincentPrice · 03/11/2010 17:52

My DD would never let me get away with that - she can detect a lurking parsnip (or any root vegetable other than potatoes) at a distance of half a mile, blindfolded, with a clothes peg on her nose.

HippyHippopotamus · 03/11/2010 17:58

whereas i need to hide the meat in the veg Grin My DS will only eat fruit and veg!!

but no, YANBU!

canyou · 03/11/2010 18:01

Grate the mushrooms mimps, my sis is 'allergic' to mushrooms as they make her sick, it is amazing she is never sick after eating in my house Wink

JustBeachy · 03/11/2010 18:27

Haha - we are all devious vegetable smugglers!

If your kids like lasagna/spag bol may I suggest whizzing any veggies left in the fridge to dust in a food processor with the onions and frying it up into the bol sauce, almost anything that is not green disguises beautifully... mwahahahaha Smile
