NOT a Wii or the latest computer game, an IPod or a puppy but................

SELF CONFIDENCE AND POSITIVITY!

Feeling very spiritual and I have entirely re-evaluated my life these last few weeks as I have been reading several books on the Laws of Attraction.

You have to read them several times to 'get' it, I find.

I have now vowed to turn negatives into positives (as there is a positive angle to everything) and find a reason to be happy everyday. Its so easy to get into the habit of getting stressed out and worrying about stuff that really does not matter in the scheme of things.

I speak as someone who has lost a child, lost a home, gone bankrupt, been made redundant, suffered a nervous breakdown and am still recovering now. I am gradually changing my thinking (I said to the driver who almost hit me this morning 'bless you' instead of 'fuck you') and I KNOW I can and will turn my life around.

I just wish I had access to these types of books when I was a teenager. I do think my life would have been different. I encourage all of you to look into this and pass it on to your DCs!

In theory that sounds great but am a little Hmm imagining Xmas morning when your DCs wake to find an empty stocking (perhaps with an "inspirational" message from Santa attached) I would think that Wii would be looking pretty good to them right about then.

More seriously, it's great to hear that after your difficulties you've managed to find a way back to a more positive outlook on life. I'm sure your DCs will benefit from having a happier Mum.

Please, please don't turn into too much of a zealot promoting these books and your new philosophy though. Having had a friend who underwent a similar transformation, it quickly became very tiring constantly being lectured to.

How about self confidence, positivity and a Wii ;)

Actually I think the best gift we can give our DC is the ability to cope when they don't feel self confident or positive because it is unrealistic to think that self confidence and positivity is a constant attainable state.
