Ok. So I've slightly messed up. Never never never assume you can get a Halloween costume in the sales after Halloween.

DS aged 3 wants to be a monster. Actually he wants to be a green monster. I've got a scary green and white mask which he's happy with. In fact, I thought I might have got away with it until he told me at bedtime that he wants a 'scary tummy and scary legs' too. Bugger.

I'm currently thinking about cutting off and fraying some old trousers (Frankenstein style) and teaming with a green t-shirt. Please tell me someone has a better idea?!

... and I should mention that the party is at 3pm tomorrow.

Looking on the bright side, I made some spider cakes!

Primark adult babygrow cut up.

Green PJ's

24hr supermarket nearby?

Green binliners cut into strips - swamp monster stylee!

Ebay buy it now that you can collect from nearby - Freecycle collect.

On facebook? Ask if any of your friends has something you can borrow?

Not bad considering I only have an 18wk DD!!!

Good luck - Let us know how you get on.

cherry, that post is awesome!!
and no, you definitely can't get stuff in the sales after halloween, I tried it a couple of years ago. Bar-stards!!

Wow Cherry! And unlike me, you'll be fine when your DD reaches last minute party age. Thanks!!

Cut out some big cardboard monster hands and feet and sew or staple them to the cuffs of his sleeves and trousers so they hang over his hands and feet, he won't notice that his tummy and legs aren't scary then!

Just had some more ideas:

The Xmas stuff is in alot of shops now. Could an elf costume be modified?
Theres probably some green tincel about too.

Fishnet tights with bits of plants woven into them - Like Army camoflage(sp?)and rub mud on his legs and arms - What monster is clean???

Dunelm Mill/Wilkinsons nearby? Green pillowcase with head and arm holes cut out. Green net curtain cape

Leg from tights stuffed with newspaper to make a monster tail to go with chixinthestix hands/feet idea

YOu know when you get given make-up palates as gifts and never end up using hte green and blue eye shadows? Well now's you chance!
