AIBU - wedding overload!

SIL is getting married in May.
Build up has been going on for nearly 2 years.

They sent me an email the other day with a user name and password for their wedding website.
I dutifully had a look which is all blogs about buying dress, pictures of venue, vote for what flavour cake and recent photos of a trial shoot at the venue with the photographer but in civvies.

Ok fair enough and all a bit tedious.
But what got me was that there was a notice after the log in that showed I was online
I immediately logged off.

AIBU to think this is a little creepy?

I think having a website for your wedding is really odd in itself!

Two and half years organising a wedding I'd be fed up with it if it was my wedding, never mind anyone elses. Do people really do trial shoots and websites?

YANBU. It sounds very dull. No offence. My sister has booked her wedding for May 2012. I already know:

I and my little sister will be wearing a hideous colour that suits neither of us

It's on a bank holiday weekend, 400 miles away in a tourist destination so accomodation will be hugely expensive

My younger brother and sister will be sitting very important exams at the time

DP says we wont be able to go as there will be no way we could afford it (already saving to move into new place and for baby due next year)

My sister has told me to BF so I lose weight in time to fit into hideous dress. I wouldn't BF to fit into my own wedding dress let alone a poxy bridesmaid dress for someone elses bloody wedding

Rant over. Sorry to hijack OP but that feels much better.

I think all Bridezillas should be sent to an island somewhere where they can't inflict themselves on others.

Totally agree. Somewhere with internet access so they can't make up a stupid blog where you can see the dress (aren't you meant to wait for the big day to showcase that?) and vote on a fucking wedding cake flavour. Btw OP does it give "I officially don't give a fuck what you choose" as an option to vote for?

The longest and happiest marriage I know is my big sis who married at 18 , over 30 years, she had a registry office do and then a lunch at home. Her husband even forgot to order her bridal flowers.

I just don't get the whole bridezilla thing.

Blimey. We got engaged then got married 6 months later. Big white, traditional wedding. How do people take this long to organise?

Oh my SIL was similar, she used to talk about "the wedding" with a fake little girl voice too.... that was not irritating at all

Oh dear - yes this overboard they'll probably get bored with their own wedding! I hope the day isn't a let down after all this planning...

My sis drove me absolutely insane with all her wedding details. My parents jumped at the opportunity to cross the atlantic to get away from it all!!
But, the day itself was a lovely one.

Sis took a year and a half to organise it and it was a year I would never wish to live again.
I just thank god it is over and feel for you Big Time!

I have a friend that spent longer planning her wedding than she did actually married! The plans were her whole life. When it was all over and she realised that normal life can be a bit dull sometimes, the relationship fell apart.

I used to work with someone who stressed herself silly over her shoes. Should she have a pair for the walk down the aisle and change into a different fancier pair for "that" photo with your foot on the step of the wedding car.
I really couldn't care less.
In the end she did get the other pair of shoes for 'that' photograph if any body is interested.

yup daftapeth that is me.
She has calmed down big style.
I mean she is still a loon and you think where are you coming from! half the time. But contact has all but ceased so I don't have to care anymore.
I got a couple of kittens just after the wedding and the first thing she said upon meeting them was 'oh, no collars yet then?'. Honestly, those were her first words!
No, aw aren't they cutes.

Second time she meets them 'Still no collars I see.'
A loon, I tell you! She is just odd.
