Or am I being pathetic ? DH is at work and says he hasn't got time to drop the car back but I really don't want to make the 4 mile round trip in the dark, 2 miles of which will be with a 9 month old baby in a sling

How awful, otcha.
Mentally I know that if someone is going to attack you they're going to do it whether it's night or day. But somehow it's so much worse when it's dark or twilight as you can't see what's going on so well

would def prefer buggy to sling, even if it meant pushing it empty there. but do have some sympathy as 4 mile round walk in the cold is not my idea of fun.

thisisyesterday · 01/11/2010 19:55

ok now you really are being unreasonable

8 hours to catch up with housework was nice??????

Wink

Anyway, I am going to step away from this thread now as I have a pile of ironing to do and 8 pansies to pot up before they finally call it quits. DH is in an interview and I can't get hold of him and my mum would have 50 fits if I told her so it has been cathartic to be able to talk about it on here.
Night all, I'm off for a stiff drink now the baby's asleep !

I only made the point to illustrate that'd there are some parts of the world and some times of year where people don't have a choice. I'd never be able to leave the house!

Glad you're ok.

Next time you get some time to yourself, treat yourself, and leave the housework to car-driving partner :)

I hate walking in the dark - although had to do it for a year 5x a week when DS 2yo. I'm always scared and my breathing increases, I practically run.

Mindyou that probably burnt a few more calories and thats why I'm much hevier now I have a car Grin

YANBU to not want to do it but sometimes it just has to be done Smile

i can't think of any reason why anyone would want to walk in the dark. i get that some people dont mind it but i don't understand people wanting to.

otchayaniye · 01/11/2010 20:34

I actually like walking in the dark (on my own though)

booyhoo · 01/11/2010 20:35

otch that is the worst kind of dark walking!!

ENormaSnob · 01/11/2010 20:38

Yanbu at all.

otchayaniye · 01/11/2010 20:42

I admit I am really weird!

scarylooker · 01/11/2010 20:59

I love walking in the dark! Or even better running. On a summer evening when it's just got dark, or even better just before Christmas when everyone is settled in their lovely cosy homes with the Christmas lights on. And no-one gets to see me sweaty and red-faced!

togarama · 01/11/2010 21:20

YABU. Don't know what you're making a fuss about. If you're healthy and don't live in a crime hotspot, 2 miles is nothing at any time. I regularly do several times this distance with a 25lb baby in a carrier for fun and don't think this is exceptional.

bigchris · 01/11/2010 22:03

Hope dh's interview goes well
sounds like you've got a lot on your plate!

Fibilou · 01/11/2010 22:07
