Why oh why can't my kids sleep till 7am.
Oh the joys of a lie in, cosy under the duvet.

YANBU Are your children old enough to tell the time? If they are .... put clocks in their bedroom/s and tell them what time is 'getting up time'. Works for me :)

orangina · 28/10/2010 10:11

I feel your pain....

(desperate to get to/past 7am....)

ben5 · 28/10/2010 10:13

what i don't understand is that i have to wake them on school days at 0730 but at weekends they are up at 0630!!

insanityrules · 28/10/2010 10:16

Would love to put clocks in the bedrooms but sadly they are too young to tell the time or too bloody lazy to read it.
I am starting to look like a mad demented woman, (zombie at dawn look)

Eight year old can tell time. He likes a lie in as much as me.

18 month old thinks that 5.30 is the the time to start to party and wake up big brother with singing.

You are not unreasonable, but hell will freeze over before you get a lie in. I'm afraid its the price you pay for having sex!

insanityrules · 28/10/2010 10:36

Having sex! I'm blaming the alcohol.

I wouldn't mind but they won't go to bloody bed either.

Could you lay out something to eat for them the night before and ask them to go down and watch tv for half an hour? Or are they too young for that? (Please don't tell the NCT on me Grin)

reallytired · 28/10/2010 11:40

My son make his own breaksfast, but clearing up the mess is another matter. It looks like as if a bomb has hit the kitchen.

WriterofDreams · 28/10/2010 11:51

If you lay everything out and say the kitchen is off limits would this help?

colditz · 28/10/2010 11:55

Set your heating to come on at 4.30am

LadyLatherOfIndecision · 28/10/2010 12:10

hah colditz I was just coming on to recommend that

great minds 'n all

hellphireblue · 28/10/2010 14:16

I feel your pain. 6am is a lie in in our house and that doesn't happen very often!

millimurphy · 28/10/2010 20:46

Try parrots - mine will be up early for the next 30 years plus - then you can complain of real suffering...
