I sold a coat and I didn't notice the lining had minor stretching at the underarms, the buyer said she wanted to return it, I said absoloutely fine and I was sorry. She then asked me to refund her THEN she would send it back, I said no I would rather her send it back first.... I then said she should open a case with paypal, I would agree to a refund via them and they would hold the money for her and as soon as she put a tracking number in she could have her money, much safer I thought! She did that and is now freaking out because she wasn't refunded instantly and saying how much hassle I have caused her! I feel she is holding me to ransom over feedback, mine is 100%, aibu?!

it sounds like if it is all in the hands of paypal then all you can do is wait - as can she!

If she is threatening bad feedback unless you do something (what I dont know) then you need to report her to ebay.

I think I will report her to ebay, she can't expect me to refund her before sending the coat back!

Feck her! All you need do is put a comment in response to any negative feedback that states (probably more tactfully) that she got her knickers in a knot when you wouldn't refund her before you received the returned item.

99.9% of people on eBay check the feedback details, not just percentage...and to be honest, it sounds like there's nothing you could have done to avoid bad feedback from her.

I'm interested, if paypal are holding the funds for her what exactly is she asking you to do? Surely she must realise that she'll get the refund.

sonnyday · 28/10/2010 08:02

gingernutlover I have no idea! She stated she wanted the refund LAST NIGHT and anything else isn't good enough. Says I have gone back on my word as I said I would try and see if I could do it (via paypal so they had proof) but they wouldn't let me, so I followed the guidlines, she isn't happy about this, some people are strange

If she uses any swear words, or mentions a paypal dispute in the feedback, you can have it removed by ebay.
