Been to work today and ive come home feeling really annoyed and upset.

Firstly i find out that a member of staff who ive worked with for the past 7 years is leaving i found this out from another member of staff and everyones known for the past week and im suppose to be the supervisor. I cant believe my manager didnt come and tell me i feel so stupid and i feel like i must come across like i dont care about my staff bceause i obvisouly i havent said anything to the member of staff that is leaving.

Then i find out that some of the staff are going out for food tonight and decided to ask me if i want to go at 4.30 knowing ive got 2 LO who would need a babysitter and they arranged this yesterday on my day off so you think they would text me to ask if i would like to go.

What a day :(

AIBU?

Make a hot chocolate to drink and sit down. If this is a one off, than dont worry. If there are other issues, than is time to think of a strategy !!! Grin

A little bit unreasonable - you were asked out, it's not as if they ignored you or kept it secret.

Not sure about the staff member who is leaving - it may simply be that it was announced on your day off or something then they forgot to fill you in when you came back.

Why not have a little chat to the worker and say you will be sorry to see him/her go?

Maybe they had an unexpected life-change and had to hand in notice quickly?

Are you being too sensitive maybe? Do you generally get on well with your co-workers?

I think i get on ok with my co-workers and she didnt hand her notice in when it was my day off i found out which day it was and i was working that day.
