So far today I have had fliers for -

Sky Plus
Oxfam
Brochure about local businesses
Free solar electricity
The Co-op offers
This all came with the post

and about ten mins ago I discovered a sack for the Red Cross requesting clothing and the Betterware catalogue.

I am starting to seriously consider super glueing my letterbox shut.

YANBU

I hate it, too.

I KEEP registering with the royal mail opt out 'service' but it doesn't seem to make any difference [I know that a lot of the junk mail doesn't come from them, but some of it definitely does).

I have tried notices on the letterbox.

I've tried sending it back.

I haven't tried the glue though. Tempting!

Here try this link it will stop you receiving 'junk mail' and cold callers it worked for me!! www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

we get normal junk mail plus all the bloody car and taxi related stuff due to DH's business.

LittlebearH · 27/10/2010 17:09

Thanks Nando, will try that!!

I know people have to advertise but everyone is concerned about saving the planet and I reckon most people just bin/recycle it. I wonder how much junk mail is a waste of time and money?

I get really fed up of this too - didn?t realise that DH was as annoyed as me, until the other day - we normally keep the green bin for recycling in the back garden, but DH left it by the front door, and put a notice on it saying ?Please put all junk mail directly in here, and cut out the middleman (our letterbox). Thanks?

It didn?t make any difference, but it did make me laugh when I saw it, especially as we?d not even spoken about the problem at any point
