To prefer Sayers over Greggs?

Never heard of Sayers.
I'm from Leeds and we used to have Thurstons and Ainsleys.

Didn't Greggs buy Thurstons? I used to work in Thurstons as a teenager - most of the their products can now be found in Greggs (I don't think they do apple charlottes though, which were one of my favs).

Sad about Ainsleys though - they were mucho superior to Greggs and now their shops have been bought out by a company whose products are so cheap and nasty they make Greggs look like gourmet cuisine.

I used to love Thurstons cheese and onion slices.
Mum used to buy a selection of "fancies" from there for Saturday tea.
