I asked this question on another thread, and I was told I should start a new thread.

When you have a friend who is a constant train wreck (due to poor choices with men) and you are the one always picking up the pieces, what is better?

a. ditch the friend.

b. mind your buisness and let them suck you emotionally dry everytime one of the men involved uses them and tosses them away

c. don't mind your own business and tell them to "man" up and stop acting like a doormat?

Depends on how good a friend. If a very good chum, then option c. If more an aquaintance, option a.

c. I have a friend like this. Have given her books on feminism etc, told her she doesn't need her opinions validated. Then the pattern repeats.

Can you suggest they tackle what it is that causes these decisions? The behaviour is probably a symptom of something else like self esteem issues. Get them to work on that.

d. listen for a bit then change the subject
