That CUNTING norovirus. I fucking fucking fucking fucking hate it more than anything on earth. My little girl 2 has been spewing like the child from Exorcist for the last hour. Poor thing. I know my baby and my son will get it, it's inevitable and I know I'll get it too. As will OH. I just hope it's not at the same time. We have a £200 weekend break with friends booked for next weekend too so no doubt we'll have to cancel it.

I hate it. The only thing I hate more is death. Winter has barely begun so no doubt it'll hit us a good few times like the cunt it is.

Poor little girl. My mum just had it and I went to see if she was ok. Now I'm feeling queasy. I fucking hate the cunting thing too.

stealthpony · 23/10/2010 23:43

It's so evil. It's like wasps. No point at all, only here to make us miserable.

I'll just lie here and wait for it to hit me.

Fuck you norotwat.

Gah!

I'm with you on that one. It completely ruined Christmas for us a couple of years ago.

You are right. Norovirus is a cunt.

YANBU
Poor you. It's so horrible watching your DC ill with it and knowing the inevitable...just waiting for it.

MrsVincentPrice · 23/10/2010 23:51

oh god yes, DS came down with it in the car a few years ago, and then the rest of us, one after another, over Christmas
It was short lived thank heavens, but while it was at its peak I just wanted to lie on the cold bathroom floor and die. And there's fuck all you can do about it, too (bar Dioralyte, which I hate).

stealthpony · 24/10/2010 00:05

The car!! MrsVP that is absolutely heinous. I bet that was horrible to clear up.

It's just terrible when they're so young because they are so scared of what's happening as thir little body is completely out of control. I'd rather suffer pain 1000 times over than see my children in such a state.

I swear I'd I ever win £150 million on the euro lottery, I'll invest it all into finding a vaccination against the fucker!

Oh hell, it's doing the rounds again?

Last time it was doing the rounds where I was, one of the cheeky fuckers I worked with called up claiming to have it. He was of course strongly encouraged not to come within a 10 mile radius of the office, cheeky git was fine but got a nice break. Hmm

mathanxiety · 24/10/2010 00:11

I never knew how many nooks and crannies the car had until 2 of the DCs spewed all over it while taking them home from school when it hit them.

MuGGGhoulWump · 24/10/2010 00:11

I'm emetophobic.

I'm terrified of this.

TattyDevine · 24/10/2010 10:17

Oh I hate Norovirus. But I dont let myself go beyond the puking bile/air stage - once my vomiting has become properly unproductive and I'm just puking up the fluid I'm trying to keep down, I take 2 Buccastem M (available over the counter, say you are a migrane sufferer) which is an anti sickness drug.

The virus then hits you down below, you have the squids for a day or so, paracetamol for the aches/twinges, if you hate Diorolyte, try Powerade or a sports drink, a bit more commercial tasting but essentially the same thing with the salts and electrolyes etc.

Also, very important, remember to follow the "rules" for recovery when reintroducing food and drink.

No milk
No fruit
No sweets

Start with Jacobs cream crackers or similar. Toast (no butter or barely any), marmite etc. Meat is fine, vegetables are fine. But definitely no dairy or fruit juice or fruit until a good couple of days of non-nausea and you can fart with confidence.

BaggyCoconut · 24/10/2010 10:27

YANBU

It is a most vile and horrid illness. Everyone in the house always gets it. We make every effort to do extra cleaning of door handels, banisters the phones etc....but it still gets everyone. I just hope it passes quickly and stays away from you all for a while.

Conflugenglugen · 24/10/2010 10:41

Ligocyte is currently developing and testing a vaccine, though its release date is far from decided:

vaccinenewsdaily.com/news/216438-trial-set-to-begin-on-norovirus-vaccine

It usually affects those with O type blood more than others.

I can usually stave it off by refusing point-blank to vomit - a battle that lasts a few hours as the nausea waves hit ... after which time it tends to give up and turn into diarrhoea, which I am much happier to deal with.
