..to put a tenner in a card rather than buy a birthday present for a 6 year old boy....

...when we only received the invite for the party 48 hours ago (Thursday evening for a party this afternoon i.e. Saturday at 3pm)?

At a push I could nip into the local market town now and buy something, but it is raining and I am feeling disinclined.....

Nip to sainsburys and get a couple of club penguin membership cards.

Hedgeblunder · 23/10/2010 12:34

That sounds fine to me- I'd really appreciate that!

pilates · 23/10/2010 12:34

Totally acceptable, bearing in mind the very short notice. If I was the parent I would be pleased as it can be saved, or the child can have a special outing into town and choose something they want.

SHRIIIEEEKPoolingBearBlood · 23/10/2010 12:36

what is this club penguin I keep seeing mentioned?

TheBolter · 23/10/2010 12:37

Fine - I think I've done it before! As a mother I'd appreciate it more than another lump of plastic shite. The fun that can be had shopping with the money afterwards will make the present extra nice!

pintyblud · 23/10/2010 12:41

A 6 yr old would love a tenner.

hmc · 23/10/2010 12:41

Good - I'll do that then and not feel bad about it. Thanks guys

We got a few five/ten pounds notes after my daughter's birthday party last year. It was definitely appreciated (and we gave plenty of notice as well!).
