Seriously, which one of us is being unreasonable.

I want a pair of Ugg boots for xmas. DD says I can't because I'm too old. I am 45. Am I too old for Uggs?

haha remember that scene in the Kevin and Perry film when he hates it when his parents are singing 'Wonderwall'?

mummycreepynora · 20/10/2010 22:49

I believe its the law of the world that parents are to OLD for anything their teens think are cool Grin

Mssoul · 20/10/2010 22:49

No. She is BU! They are soooooo cosy and comfy.

BTW My teenager used to not sit next to me on the bus in the morning. Now she won't even get on the same bus as me!

bubbleOseven · 20/10/2010 22:50

yeah but they were'nt wearing Uggs Grin - so i'm too old then is that it?

winnybella · 20/10/2010 22:51

Depends how what you intend to wear them with. But no, 45 is not too old, fgs. She's BU.

scurryfunge · 20/10/2010 22:51

I have a pair at the grand old age of 43....you have the spending power your DD doesn't.....flaunt it!

bubbleOseven · 20/10/2010 22:53

right, thanks ladies, for once an AIBU thread goes my way. I'm gonna get em!

BitOfFunderthepatio · 20/10/2010 22:54

You are not being unreasonable. But they will look like orthopedic slippers in a nursing home in comparison to how they look on 14 yea olds.

ForMashGetSmash · 20/10/2010 22:55

No you're not too old! I look to famous people whose style I admire and who are the same age as me...if they have it on then I can too!

bubbleOseven · 20/10/2010 22:56

Grin BitofFun are you my teenage dd?

Yanbu to wear uggs. We have to get what little fun we can out of having teens and that usually involves embarrassing them at every opportunity.

If that means wearing uggs then go for it! We usually just hack into our teens facebook accounts and post baby in the bath pics. Causes us hours of amusement!

Oops sorry. On my phone!

curlymama · 20/10/2010 23:08

If you want Uggs, you have Uggs! If you can't wear whatever footwear you choose when you are 45, there is something seriously wrong!

The fact that it embarrases a teenager is an added bonus!

Uggs are so comfy, you won't regret it!

mumeeee · 20/10/2010 23:35

Your teenager is being unreasonable not you, I've git Ugg type boots and I'm 53. DD3 is 18 and she has never said I'm to old to have them.

Notyetamummy · 20/10/2010 23:58

YANBU - my nan (62) has some Grin

My mum (43) also bought some lovely new jeggings last weekend.

I (23) don't wear either, but they look good on mum & nan.

SolidButShamblingUndeadBrass · 21/10/2010 00:00

I had some Happy SHopper fake Uggs last year and I am nearly 46. They were actually utterly bloody uncomfortable and made my legs feel like lead.

SatinandTat · 21/10/2010 00:08

I am thinking of offering to buy my 77 year old mother some for Christmas (to go with her new long down coat). They are very comfy and every age wears them here. So, your dd is bvvu.

elterwater · 21/10/2010 00:09

but uggs are indoor slippers!

RedHeels · 21/10/2010 00:30

BitOfFun you owe me big time! I hurt myself laughing at "orthopedic slippers in a nursing home" - I got a weak pelvic floor and PGP so almost a little bit of pee came out and I strained my groin! [hgrin]

Tortington · 21/10/2010 00:32

uggs are ugly and so 2 years ago.
