Scary adverts?

I'm a big wimp, yes I know, but I just caught the advert for Paranormal Activity 2 and now I'm terrified! I'm home alone (well 2 kids are in bed) as DP is at work and I have the baby monitor on.

I keep expecting to hear something "paranormal" on the monitor!

I hate scary films, choose not to go see them but I don't want to see the adverts too! [hangry]

AIBU in texting DP to come home :)

I can't watch horror any more since seeing the ring - didn't find the ad you mentioned scary though. Saw the ad for the new BBC psychoville thing though, the clowns made DH hide behind his hands.

lola0109 · 19/10/2010 23:24

Oh no!! I'll avoid that ad too.

I avoided the ad for The Strangers for ages but hearing it was terrifying me and I was having nightmares about what it would be like. I then accidentally saw it one day and it was fine.

It was The Sixth Sense for me!

I think its the kids in the ad that terrifies me! I'm frightened of kids ghosts!

Oh monitors are completly scary! I hated it when DD was little...I was always expecting to hear a voice or something.

Mind you..there was a case where a Mother had one of those camera monitors...the kind that show a live image of your baby in it's cot and the monitor began to pick up images from next door who had the same model...and she saw their two boys tied up in the bloody cellar! The Mother had been abusing and neglecting them...now THAT would be an awful and frightening thing to see...never mind some daft film...which is fiction.

lola0109 · 19/10/2010 23:31

Thats awful, is that a true story??

When DP and I moved into this house he was makingamess landscaping the garden and was digging and found

netting
a broken mirror
a baby rattle
a baby cardigan...

I begged him not to dig any further!

It freaks me out to this day and am convinced a small child is going to say something through monitor!

Ok, I'm really scaring myself now. Going to climb into bed with DD1 till DP gets home!

EEEK! OMG! YOur story is 10 times more disturbing than mine! I could not leave that alone... It is true yes...it was in Germany or somewhere...the woman basically saved the kids because of the dodgy signal on the monitor!

MrsRhettKilledTheButler · 19/10/2010 23:46

Shock lola! i wouldve had to dig further!

wayoftheworld · 19/10/2010 23:46

I remember hearing noises on our baby monitor once and were quite scared for the first few minutes- until we realised it was picking signal from our next door appartment who had the same monitors. Had to go and speak to the neighbour about it, but she found it funny as they had already heard us talk on monitor before Shock.

I cant think of what we had talked or not...talked!! Blush

lola0109 · 19/10/2010 23:48

I couldn't, if there was anything else there we'd have to move and can't afford it!!

The house has been blessed (my uncle is a priest) so we should be ok!

My mum's theory is that someone living here had a miscarriage and that was their way of dealing with it. The cardigan and rattle are really old, 60's/70's maybe!

It was the mirror that I found really strange!

wayoftheworld we're the only house in our street with kids so I would be petrified! It's bad enough DD1 mumbles in her sleep!!

We don't usually have it on as it's not a huge house but DD2 has been quite sicky so just like to make sure she is ok.

I'm usually against TV's in the bedroom but am tempted so I'm upstairs with kids whilst DP is working nights and I don't have to have monitor on! I'm such a wimp!!

Can you leave bedroom doors open? I still have a very light sleep and can hear kids in their bedrooms if the doors are open.

Have a glass of wine- it will help you relax. As for the advert I dont watch things like that at all!! Mentalist is as far as I can go...Smile

lola0109 · 20/10/2010 00:05

Yeah I can hear them upstairs no problem. But I have no tv upstairs so its only when downstairs I have monitor on.

DP on his way home, I can go to bed soon!!

THE ADVERT HAS JUST CAME ON AGAIN!!!! ARGHH!!!!
