to think the new housing cuts

will only raise the HB bill?

To raise the social rents towards market levels would mean more families having to go on Housing Benefit. To cut social housing provision and increase private sector rentals will increase the number of families having to go on HB. Whether or not they work.

Housing in this country is unaffordable as it is and all this will do is worsen the problem, surely?

yep!! i think so too!

and there will be a housing benefit cap remember.....so tenents will pay more as HB wont cover much anymore

So therefore surely increasing homelessness.... vicious circle anyone?

Sullwah · 19/10/2010 15:19

But to some extent HB must set the market.

Landlords can only charge what their tennants can either afford or claim fron HB

So my restricting HB - surely this must force rents down?
