To think that if someone says their house has been 'rewired', it means a full rewire rather than partial rewire/general bringing up to standard?

A very exciting topic, I know. I have nothing invested on either side but this has been the subject of a difference of opinion, and I'm keen to hear what others would assume.

I'd assume partial unless they explicitly said otherwise.

No reason why - I don't have anything to do with houses or housing other than have bought and sold - that's just what I'd assume.

AMumInScotland · 17/10/2010 19:41

I'd assume a complete replacement of the wiring.

EldonAve · 17/10/2010 19:44

I'd assume full rewire but if I was buying I'd be looking at the survey

SarahStratton · 17/10/2010 19:50

I'd assume a full rewire and if it were estate agents details it would have to be unless they stated 'partial'.

Whyyyyyyyyyy??

Heartsease · 17/10/2010 20:36

A stupid and horrible argument sprang from this question -- the answer is totally unimportant but I wanted to know if I was unusual.

Did you win? Grin

Heartsease · 17/10/2010 20:42

Nobody won, it's no longer the most important thing Sad. Mostly my fault.
