To be very annoyed

I invited my brother round for Sunday Lunch today and he didn't show up. I've tried ringing him and he hasn't answered his phone. I made a real effort as its usually just me and DD. DD adores him and she's devastated because she'd been looking forward to seeing him all week.AngryAngryAngry

I don't think that the OP is being unreasonable as if he couldn't make it he should have rung/texted her and it upset her DD.

dertitude · 18/10/2010 18:36

You heard from him yet?

My brother hides away when he knows that he is in the wrong and me or any of my dsis are going to give him an earful.

leandro · 18/10/2010 22:15

He got attacked on the way over. A gang of guys, he thinks 5 jumped him from behind but he can't be sure as they knocked him out and he suffered a concussion. They stole his phone and wallet. Feel terrible that I ripped into him on the internet for everyone to see.

Thats terrible I hope he's ok. I know you probably feel like a right cow but we all rush to conclusions and unless he's a MN user (which I don't think many 19yo lads are) then he'll never find out. Try not to be too hard on yourself.

xynia · 18/10/2010 23:43

I've been watching this thread and OP if I were your brother I'd give you a "tongue lashing" for your attitude whilst you possessed none of the facts.

vampirecameronsux2bmean · 19/10/2010 00:03

Well, that's sweet of you Xynia. Kick someone when they're down ffs? She feels bad enough already. You've been 'watching this thread'- so that allows you to take the moral highground? Leandro - hope your brother is better soon and as huddspur said, try not to be too hard on yourself. Shit happens, we all
jump to conclusions sometimes, you were just venting and getting a phone switched off made you think he was in avoidance mode. Hope you can all have dinner soon when he is better.
Take care xx

xynia · 19/10/2010 00:10

Its just she was venting about her and her DDs needs when in reality her brother had been set upon by some thugs. She also suggests that this much maligned boy should be some father figure in her DDs life.

byrel · 19/10/2010 06:53

Don't feel too bad OP, we've all jumped to the wrong conclusions before. At least you did it on MN and didn't leave a nasty message on his answerphone. Hope he gets well soon.

macdoodle · 19/10/2010 06:55

oh well the old cynic in me wonders just a little if his story is entirely true Hmm Have you seen him, is he ok, bruises to show for it??

ManiDeadi · 19/10/2010 09:32

Well the old cynic in me wonders if any of this is true

whelker · 19/10/2010 13:27

OP thats awful, there really is some scum in this country. Don't feel too bad you couldn't have known.
