That baby showers prior to babies safe arrival are not a good idea.

Contrary to popular belief everything is not plain sailing after a 12 week scan. Not all babies make it into this world safely for a multitude of reasons.

One of mine didn't - at term, we still never brought our little boy home. It happens so much more than people realise.

Yes, completely agree, any premature announcements of names, sex, baby showers etc. before the actual safe delivery is sooo tempting fate.

Best avoided until all is well. However that awareness may only come after sad experiences.
