My mother knows how I feel about Gollies because she threatened to buy one for one of my dss years ago and I said No thanks. So now she's bought an extortionate one for ds3, for Christmas, and I'm very annoyed. She's not the sort of woman to say no to, certainly not after the fact. I just wish she didn't just think that just because things remind her of her childhood and are 'classic toys' that there's no genuine objection to them.

So Am I unreasonable just to accept the thing and put it at the back of the cupboard and hope noone finds it?

sell it on ebay if you don't want it .....I'll have a bid

ask her to keep it at her house for your LO to play with.

in fact just assume that this is what will happen as she knows how you feel about them.

Throw it away. And tell her that's what you have done.
