Well, someone qualified anyway. I don't just let anyone in overalls rummage in my airing cupboard, I've got class Grin!

I've been through the Gas Safe register for my area, phoned loads of numbers, left messages on countless answerphones and no-one has got back to me, despite follow-up calls (and more messages left).

I was under the impression that small businesses were supposed to be chasing all the custom there is in these straightened times. I bet they'll be happy to come out and charge through the nose if it packs up in January Hmm.

It's too much faff.
There are far too many regulations.
There are far too many non-payers.
There are, I'm afraid, too many awkward loons customers.

My tame plumber has gone over to non-domestic, less regulated other work. It is better paid and less stress. And no-one phones him at silly o'clock for emergencies.

Damn! I've managed to get some leads today, possibly the name (number to follow hopefully) of someone who did a friend's, mother's boiler (I think).

Maybe I should start walking the streets with a sandwich board promising hard cash and my everlasting gratitude.

Peppa - to the taffs?! But that's another country Shock Grin!
