Watching the coverage of the rescue of the miners and wishing I could get away with "vay" instead of "verry" (very).

I am a true Geordie and therefore, instead of sounding like a socialite, sound like an scullery maid from Catherine Cookson

Nerdy, I remember chuckling when I read that in a Cookson book (The Mallen Streak?) when I was a teenager, to the point where I got to that giggly stage when you're not sure if you're laughing or crying. Grin My mum thought I had lost the plot ...
