It's usually funny when someone's left their FB logged on, and their friends write 'Johnny* has had diarrhoea all morning' or 'Johnny licks cheese'. But my cousin's friends (19 / 20ish) wrote 'Johnny thinks all rape victims are asking for it.'

Now, maybe I was being unreasonable commenting that perhaps Johnny might want to get himself some new friends, ones with brains (unsurprisingly, they took umbrage at this, the little cretins). But it worries me actually, that they felt this was a funny thing to write. I think they've crossed a line, big time.

But aibu in wanting to give them each a great big slap?

I had stern words with DBro when one of his 'mates' kept tagging him in images with really offensive jokes in, one was a pic of a preteen girl with some joke about jailbait. Thankfully DBro has a brain and sorted his 'mate' out. Teenagers can be twats. They all talk about being 'fraped'. Twats.

I wouldn't write 'all rape victims are not women' a because the vast majority are and b because that would imply that it's kind of ok if it just happens to women? That seems to be an odd statement.

This kind of thing is usually otherwise quite well brought up boys being thoughtless and unempathetic. It might work if you or your cousin points out that it's possible that someone who has been raped would see this comment and how would they feel?

I almost certain they meant fraped, not raped. I've seen tons of updates with "fraped again, watch out" or similar appear. They wouldn't mean anything bad by it (I hope!). It is i bad taste to actually say raped though because there meaning is unclear amd it is a horrible thing to say.
