So when I'm reading posts here I read:

'Iyboo to hate my mil for this outrageous behaviour?',

'yahboo, I do this all the time',

'yanboo this woman was clearly trying to do her best'.

Which makes everybody on here seem like they speak an exotic but quite odd local dialect?

Or does everyone do this?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/10/2010 13:20

OP Yanboo, but rationlist yarboo for writing LOL!

rationalist · 12/10/2010 13:24

My first Yahboo!

minipie · 12/10/2010 13:38

Oh I do that with YABU (yahboo) and YANBU (yanboo). Doesn't everyone Blush?

Some are easier than others though. IIRC is a bugger to pronounce in my head, as is IYKWIM.

HMTheQueen · 12/10/2010 13:44

I do this too... and very occasionally I hear myself use them in conversation... with non-mumsnetter! Grin Shock

HobnobHeaven · 12/10/2010 13:44

I do that too.

My DH & I first met on line and talked via chat for ages. Once he signed off saying 'the phone's ringing, brb'

Was only when we mentioned it in conversation some 6 months later I found out that 'brb' meant 'be right back' - I thought he was typing out the sound of the phone ringing, as that's how I read it in my head...

iliketosleep · 12/10/2010 13:50

HNH - Grin

If i'm ever talking to someone on chat I quite often refer to my DC as DD,DS or DH, DN. Always get ??? as a response Grin

I have also had to stop myself during conversations saying "you are being unreasonable" Confused

sapphireblwhooooo · 12/10/2010 15:27

I do it too. I also wrote DD1 in a text to Dh earlier and got a capital letter 'who is dd1?' back.

pickledbabe · 12/10/2010 15:32

Hobnob - I love it!!

DialM - I say DD DS, etc in my head, instead of Dear Daughter etc, but I read YABU as You are being unreasonable. and same with Yanbu.
sorry.

DialMforMother · 12/10/2010 22:25

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 13/10/2010 13:41

Forgot:

AFAIK - a fake
IYKWIM = eye quim ( a medieval vagina made by apple presumably)
WRT = whirrt
IMHO = imm-hoe

And the twins:

Whomm

&

Whamm

(WOHM & WAHM)

and their sister Sam (SAHM)

I am quite, quite mad it seems.

PreciousCargo · 13/10/2010 13:44

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 13/10/2010 13:56
