Having just realised that I had a rare half an hour to myself, I thought I would paint my nails. I have various nail polishes ranging from cheap as chips to fairly decent - some quite new (less than 3 months old). Ended up throwing most of them away for being too cloggy/dried out/inconsistent in texture. I thought nothing of this until I realised that I expect to throw nail varnish away half used. I can't think of any other product that I buy where I would not expect to be able to use it all up. Hmm

AIBU to think the makeup companies should have devised a nail polish that you actually get to finish by now?

I find keeping it in the fridge helps it to remain clog free.

YANBU though.

I agree.

I had to remove mine at hosp yesterday so they could check o2 rate on nail, the bright pink chipped colour would have confused the machine!

You're right! I have never, ever finished a nail varnish!

We've got a couple of bottles that have been kept in the fridge. DD bites her nails down to her elbows so they don't get much use.

Second the keeping them in the fridge - Mine are years old and still runny and usable.

Maybe I should go on dragons Den with special little nail varnish fridges.

I'd like to treat myself to that new gel polish that you can get at salons. That looks great to me and lasts very well apparantly. Polish never lasts 5 minutes on meHmm

Or you could just buy some nail polish thinner....

I know that Essie and Mavala both do one.

A couple of drops of nail varnich remover and a good shake should make the clogged ones easier.

Although I tried this with mine recently and some of the very old ones were past saving.
