and had to settle for Michelle Obama for her Spanish hw?

And to feel distinctly embarrassed that she wasn't sure who she was Blush

what paper is this?
plenty of tedious slebs in ours.
or do you just mean your dd is refreshingly celebrity-blind?

OrmRenewed · 12/10/2010 12:12

Independent.

She meant BB contestants and singers I think. People she knew. Why she didn't know Mrs O I don't know.

this thread is reminding me I need to ring up the newsagent and cancel our Sunday Times because it is too full of misogynist shite.

Shall I go for Indie or Observer then?

OrmRenewed · 12/10/2010 12:19

Prefer the Indie myself. It's a bit London-centric (not sure if that suits you or not) but I like it's tone, it;s writing and it's politics more or less.

and where is it politically these days?

I probably align most closely with the Times politically but like I say the misogyny is starting to get to me too much.

I grew up with the Grauniad but it is a bit too knee-jerkily left for me (I mean I don't mind left wing viewpoints if they are well-argued but IMO the Guardian can be a bit lazy about stuff like evidence.)

London-centred is bad though.

OrmRenewed · 12/10/2010 12:46

Right of Grauniad and lot less hair-shirty.
