On Friday, I took the kids to the Metro centre for some fresh air DD1 fell asleep in the double buggy, then DD2 fell asleep on the changing table (one of those with a strap)

WIBU to then look longingly at the changing room/toilet floor and consider it for napping purposes?

I decided against it, btw, on the grounds that the changing table strap probably wasn't secure. So vv carefully loaded DD2 into the pram and got a whole 3 sips of coffee in a coffee shop till DD1 woke up, shouted for cake and weed on the floor. Then the baby woke up and chucked some sandwiches about. I tipped heavily.

YANBU. Next time don't hesitate. And take to carrying a sleeping bag in the bottom of the buggy Grin

Oh god how I remember those times... It doesn't last for ever, but in the meantime, may I suggest that the library is both quiet and cozy. Although there's no cake and they probably look askance at wee on the floor.

I used to hate that weeing on the floor thing! My DD did it in our corner shop when she was about 6 (about 1 min to go there, 1 min in shop and 1 min back - no excuse!)

I remember seriously thinking I could have 10 mins on the kitchen floor whilst waiting for the pasta to cook....those were the days!

onimolap · 10/10/2010 19:42

Did you have any weed to give him, and does he always consume it with cake on the floor?

I once fell asleep on a bench in a major London museum whilst the DCs were messing round with an interactive display. Sadly it was only about 5 minutes before they came back, but long enough for me to have zonked and drooled on the leatherette.

ToothpasteMakesMeGag · 10/10/2010 22:09

I used to regularly fall asleep watching the kids swimming lessons...head lolling forward etc, then waking with a start and see the lifeguards laughing at me Grin

My weak spot is the bus. If the kids are asleep in the pram, I rest my head on the window and could quite easily sleep for hours :)

"drooled on the leatherette".... LOLOL Grin

Hilarious thread - sadly i can't contribute as I'm too old to remember where and how I fell asleep when mine were little!

Not long after I went back to work, when DS was under a year old anyway, we had an evening meeting to which a number of big clients were invited. I sat in the front row and spent much of the night doing that head-lolling thing with intermittent gasps as I drifted in and out of consciousness. Not my most professional hour Blush
