"my husband humiliates my children and behaves inappropriately to everyone else's children. help me to completely change everything about him and make him not a nob."

Well you can't. That doesn't work.

"I can, I know I can. Apart from him picking on the weakest people in the room and belittling everyone smaller than him, he's lovely. well, he's never actually hit me. Not hard anyway."

I hear you.

Hullygully · 06/10/2010 14:43

I think it's all right if it's loving chastisement. Try to be abit more understanding of sex differences.

arsesandoldlace · 06/10/2010 14:44

Not read the thread but I bet he's a 'great dad' too.

Chil1234 · 06/10/2010 14:44

LOL They're always 'lovely', aren't they? You can imagine Eva Braun being interviewed in Hello Magazine... 'he may have been responsible for horrendous war-crimes and brought suffering to millions but he was always lovely to me and the Doberman'

madonnawhore · 06/10/2010 14:48

Tells his wife what to wear and makes children cry on purpose.

Not a dick though.

arsesandoldlace · 06/10/2010 15:00

Please may I have a link? I'm a nosey person Grin

ShirleyKnot · 06/10/2010 15:07

That is a dreadful thread.

madonnawhore · 06/10/2010 15:11

here

Be gentle though. If the OP isn't on some kind of wind up then she's probably going to be a bit blinded by all the lightbulbs that are (hopefully) going off right now.

I feel bad for ridiculing it slightly here but it's so frustrating when the ugly reality is all there in black and white and women still try to defend and justify shocking behaviour.

MmeLindt · 06/10/2010 15:18

I am not sure if I believe it, tbh. Can someone really be so blind to that kind of behaviour?

colditz · 06/10/2010 15:30

yes of course - I was blind to it myself. There is a thread knocking around here where I defend my ex and his abusive behavior to the hilt.

OP posts:
sickoftheholidays · 06/10/2010 15:32

sometimes you cant see the wood for the trees.

MmeLindt · 06/10/2010 15:43

It makes so sad reading. I guess she has become so accustomed to his behaviour that she does not see it anymore.

arsesandoldlace · 06/10/2010 15:56

This OP really rings a bell, I think she may have posted before.

As an aside, there have been several horrendous threads just recently, one that was deleted yesterday morning was particularly upsetting.

madonnawhore · 06/10/2010 16:06

The one about the guy who had sex with his partner while she was asleep? that one was especially horrific too. Pretty sad reading on here sometimes.

arsesandoldlace · 06/10/2010 16:13

That's the one madonna, i got about halfway through then it disappeared. Was hoping it was a troll thread Sad.

Also Colditz, I'm loving your work on the 'gyno' thread.

ChippingIn · 06/10/2010 16:18

Was it deleted because she asked for it to be or was she a troll?

Sigh.

Feel like giving up on MN.

OrmRenewed · 06/10/2010 16:29

How will this help those women? Hmm

ShirleyKnot · 06/10/2010 16:31

Bloody hell colditz, that must be really weird to read back on!

Itsjustafleshwound · 06/10/2010 16:31

'Men marry woman thinking they won't change, women marry men thinking they can change them' kinda sums it up ....

AnyFucker · 06/10/2010 16:32

colditz, I dunno if you have posted on the "tipping point" thread, but what was the final nail in the coffin of your relationship with that man?

proudnglad · 06/10/2010 16:41

This is unfair - some women are in the grip of abuse and can't see the wood for the trees.

proudnglad · 06/10/2010 16:51

Colditz, did you show 'your' thread to the OP you're talking about?
