To think that our Queen should not be entitled to the Winter Fuel Allowance?

All this talk of benefits got me thinking about our dear beloved very wealthy Queen. Am I right in assuming that she along with millions of other pensioners in this country are entitled to the annual winter fuel allowance, the only requirement is to be over a certain age. I think it is unreasonable to give such a generous allowance to the Royal Family, if she can't afford her heating bills then she should move to a bungalow and have it insulated, I believe that the local coucil can subsidise the insulation costs for her .

YANBU. All my elderly rellies get it, not one of them needs it at all as they have very good pensions and oodles of savings.

Wasn't it only a week or so ago that it emerged that Buckingham Palace officials were refused a 'poverty' grant that they had applied for in 2004, to replace boilers in royal palaces? Apparently, heating bills in palaces have gone up 50%, so now costs around £1m. The grants are aimed at low income families. I don't think I'd consider the Windsors to be low income

I think it will go, lots of talks about one off payments going.

We have had the HIP and SSG go, both good decisions IMO, but if they are going to start targetting families, it's only fair they target well off pensioners too. So WFA, bus passes and prescriptions as there are after all a lot more pensioners than their are CB claimants.

Same with social housing.

Bet she does take it....i think we should be told.....wonder if Eddie and Soph take their CB

just a thought does she get a free TV licence as well as she is over 80?
