To start getting Ds's clothes ready at 26 weeks pregnant...

My mum has just bought me a whole 2 bin bags worth of lovely, almost like new second hand baby clothes and I really want to see what they look like all washed and ironed. AIBU to do this at 26 weeks pregnant or should I wait a few more weeks?

You could do it now I imagine.

Enjoy it now while you can!

I did mine nice and early, and now (sods law) baba is overdue!! :)

Do it now whilst you still have the energy, then sort them according to size, hang 'em up in the wardrobe or fold them neatly into the drawers and admire your excellent parenting/preparation skills.

I did this and it was great to have so much stuff all ready to be dribbled on and pooped on. After ds arrived I ended up taking things straight from the "clean but not yet ironed" pile.

do it! I had ds at 24 weeks and we had NOTHING ready. Luckily after a long fight he survived and came home at 5 months old. I was the only non-pregnant woman shopping for baby furniture in Mamas & Papas / Mothercare / etc.

Might as well be prepared and have fun doing it than end up doing a rush job later or being to tired to be bothered until it's too late!

Firawla · 04/10/2010 19:09

I would do it now, then the job is done. Better than leaving a long to-do list for later and now sat twiddling your thumbs, when you have the energy and enthusiasm now

Agree with Michaela5 - DD was not as early as your DS (24 weeks Shock that must have been very worrying, but lovely that he is fine and home now) but was born at 37 weeks on day 2 of my mat leave. So much for my grand plans to prepare everything and spring clean the house in the run-up to the birth whilst on mat leave - ha! Do it now if you have time & motivation.

That's what you get for finding out what gender you're getting! Grin

I have done precisely nothing with 6 weeks to go Hmm. Lazy mum for DC2!

atmywitssend · 04/10/2010 19:28

Do it now while you have time and energy!

scottishmummy · 04/10/2010 19:38

how nice of her.if you are up to it sort them out

DomesticG0ddess · 04/10/2010 19:41

I did it at about 26 weeks, as was convinced my pelvic pain was going to get much worse. It hasn't got too bad actually, but it meant that I got everything done nice and early and am now chilling a bit before DS2's arrival (am 37 weeks).

Miasma · 04/10/2010 19:42

Most definatly do it and spend the next 14 weeks looking at them and a sniffing them and imagining ...

Like Michaela (Hi Michaela!) DD arrived at 27 weeks. Do it now - I missed out on all the fun 'getting stuff ready for the baby' time. Suddenly she was here.

ClarasMummy · 04/10/2010 20:28

Thanks for the replies all, will start getting it all sorted soon Smile

Do it. Despite getting to 42 weeks pregnant I still didn't get organised somehow.
