I used to shave my eyebrows off and draw them back on, so I'm probably biased, but I think, when she's not ill and been sobbing for 3 hours, that she looks gorgeous.

I'm with the conspiracy theorists. The truly crappy choices are all to stir up drama and get people to vote against what they perceive as 'injustice' / phone to vote in a 'wildcard' they think has been screwed over / get newspaper headlines / provide easy fodder for the early vote outs so they can have time to develop the acts they want to win / get people to post about it in online forums (as I'm doing here).

It's clearly a winning strategy for the producers.

DH and I find the forensic work of trying to unpick the producers' intentions from the x factor shows the most interesting thing about it. (And we're pretty sure that the producers are aware that a significant proportion of the audience are doing this, so they're still winning).

I agree that Cher looks like she has something wrong with her, I was wavering towards drugs but I'm now in the eating disorder school of thought. Tbh she has Also irritated me like mad since day one.
I quite like Katie, she is a bit retro, and she has a good voice.

My money is on Cher to win, or possibly, just possibly the Justin Beiber/zac Ephron alikes. They were manufactured and will sell BIG time at Christmas!

Chers face gives the game away a bit, when I was 16 I was bloody tiny (size 6) but had boobs and a soft face still, not those awful lines and sunken spooky eyes, I don't mean it in a nasty away at all, I think she looks ill, poss an eating disorder or something physical in origin. I work with adolescents and even the skinny ones have rounded cheeks, even the ones who don't eat properly who have a BMI of less than 18. the fat on the face is the last thing to go and it's very very ageing when it does.

Cher got through, I thought her first audition was bad but the other night was terrible, there is no way she should have got through. I also think there is something wrong with her as well, she has a 'fragile' state of mind.

As for Katie don't get me started! she's even worse and everything is for effect.

The only ones who picked the best ones were Danni and Louis. They always contrive it so that the made up bands go through, it's so obvious.

Sorry but I REALLY disagree with you about Rebecca. I find her endless crying and whining really annoying and if she is as lacking in self confidence as they say then why risk putting her through? I didn't think her voice that memorable either - OK but a bit boring.

I can see why they put Cher through as the poor kid was genuinely ill and she had been good in earlier rounds.

However, Katie did not really deserve the chance as that is twice she has screwed up and those awful eyelashes made it difficult for me to watch her as I am butterfly phobic.

Having said that I would have been happier with a Gamu, Katie and Cher line up than boring Rebecca.

I was so shocked that Gamu didn't get through- I didn't really like her first audition (but that's because I hate that song) but I thought she was simply fantastic at boot camp- a real talent. She has been completely robbed, imo.

Both my dh and I were watching Cher and wondering if she was ok... as Tootlesmummy said, very fragile, will she cope with the live shows, I wonder?
