To want to cry because DP bought the wrong type of Lucozade?

I've been throwing up all morning, and feel shocking. My mum always used to give mr traditional Lucozade when I was I'll, and I want some! DP went off out with FIL and came home with some crappy cloudy stuff which isn't the same at all, and made my tummy hurt! Am I allowed a little weep do you think? I forgave him before for not buttering his toast right to the corners, but I think this may be a glucose drink too far!

You have a cry, you'll feel better for it. But a word from someone who knows.....DO NOT throw said bottle of Lucozade as you will NEVER get the stains out EVER. Scary stuff in the wrong hands Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 02/10/2010 15:02

as you are feeling crap, I will say yanbu.

I find that pouring a glass of full fat coke and letting it go flat helps my tummy settle a bit. Is that a possibilty for you?

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 15:02

I don't have the energy to throw it! And to make matters worse, my mummy, who lives next door, has gone out and doesn't know I neeeed her! Sad

Secret, would diet caffeine free do?

If you cry loud enough she might hear you and come running back to make you some tinned Heinz soup which as all mummy's know will cure all ailments.
I don't think caffeine free diet coke will work, see it's the sugar and caffeine which will perk you up!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 15:09

Oh bum! That's all I have! ..... do you think it would be tomato soup?....

SecretNutellaFix · 02/10/2010 15:10

Was going to say tat Durham!Smile

It has to have sugar, not sweeteners and caffeine in it.

Why are you being sick? Preg? Dodgy takeaway? Flu?

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 15:14

Not sure! Had bolognese last night, it was horrid. Nobody else Ill though. My best beloved friend(who by the way reminded me of lucozade in the first place,) says maybe I have a chill in my tummy, because I got soaked in a storm chasing ponies last night! I'm not sure! I do feel pants though!

OP posts:
SecretNutellaFix · 02/10/2010 15:16

sounds like you could have been sickening for something last night before you even ate if it tasted wrong and no one else was ill.

tethersend · 02/10/2010 15:21

It's not the same since they stopped wrapping it in cellophane.

I want heinz chicken soup and white bread cut into triangles now.

BalloonSlayer · 02/10/2010 15:44

I thought that this was going to be that you needed it for your glucose tolerance test and he'd got you the diet version!

Hope you feel better soon.

FrameyMcFrame · 02/10/2010 15:46

Yes, my Dp bought slimline tonic by accident last night and I was Angry
That stuff is boaktastic.
But I was too nice to complain ;)

TrillianAstra · 02/10/2010 15:48

I thought you'd be a pregnant person demanding very specific snacks and beverages.

LittleWhiteWolf · 02/10/2010 15:51

My mum used to make me marmite soup when I was ill. No idea why!

It does have to be full fat proper coke otherwise it wont work its magic.
Sucking on something (boiled sweets and mint imperials I mean!) always helped me when I had morning sickness...wonder if that would help?

Hope you feel better soon!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 15:52

Nope, just a sick mother! I hate it when I'm I'll, their support is underwhelming!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 15:54

Ooh little... Oxo cube tea! I'd forgotten that!

FrameyMcFrame · 02/10/2010 15:57

Bovril :)

LittleWhiteWolf · 02/10/2010 15:59

See, now, that sounds sensible. Why then did I get marmite soup? Just weird!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 16:03

I bet it made you feel better though!

Diet coke always settles my tummy. I literally can't think of one occasion when it hasn't worked. YANBU to want to cry, you can't help that. But no drink flinging or meanness to DH. [stern]

Hardandsleazy · 02/10/2010 16:09

Yanbu- the new lucozade stuff would
Make me sick without being Poorly.

lucky1979 · 02/10/2010 17:09

I had a similar conversation with DH last month when he brought me Lucozade Sport (the weird flat one) and I wanted Lucozade original. In my defense I was in stuck on a ward following major surgery and trying to recover from anesthetic so felt justified in sending him straight back down to the hospital shop to try again.

ledkr · 02/10/2010 17:25

yanbu-i love origional luco when sickly but wo betide anyone who brings me anything else especially when i have to haul my either ill, hungover or pregnat arse to the shop to look myself and they had it all the time.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 02/10/2010 17:43

Lucky, I had a general this year. I was collected from the day unit, dumped, still half unconscious in bed and left for nine and a half hours! Whilst life went on like normal downstairs! I had to phone mum next door to bring me a cup of tea!
But hey ho, my lucozade is finally here!

FrameyMcFrame · 02/10/2010 18:51
