To never order from this company again?

I ordered some coffee on Wednesday, got an email to say thank you for your order and will send another when despatched. Heard nothing else, so rang them today, and the operator put the phone down on me! OMG I cannot believe how rude he was. He had a very middle/upper class accent, but he is so in the wrong job! Basically their website is pants, they have cocked up my order, and instead of apolgising he was really rude and put the phone down!! I am waiting for the supervisor to phone me back, but I cannot believe the man's attitude. I had to laugh tho.

What does his accent have to do with anything?

amidaiwish · 01/10/2010 10:19

it is not even 48 hours since you placed the order
did it say immediate despatch/express delivery? otherwise i think your expectations are a bit much.

SoupDragon · 01/10/2010 10:21

I think you were a little hasty in chasing them and i think his accent has bog all to do with this.

thrifty · 01/10/2010 10:38

what sort of coffee were you ordering? If bulk beans, try nextdaycoffee.co.uk. They do next day delivery.

Bluebell99 · 01/10/2010 10:51

It is guaranteed delivery within 72 hrs, and usually arrives within 2 days, but the only reason I chased it was because it wasn't showing in my account or orders, and was just as well I did as they told me it had been placed in "pending", and basically had I not rang today, I wouldn't have got the order.
His accent was only relevant because it was accompanied by a very arrogant manner. Basically he was getting angry and told me to listen to him while he explained, and when I asked for his surname, I think he realised he had gone too far and put the phone down on me.
I did subsequently speak to someone else, who did apologise for the website, and who explained what had gone wrong with the order without putting the phone down on me Grin

How have they cocked up your order exactly? When did the order process say the coffee would be dispatched? Even if they dispatched it immediately, you would only be receiving it today at the earliest. I do hope they get it to you soon however as you are obviously suffering severe caffeine withdrawal symptoms! Grin

BooBooGlass · 01/10/2010 10:53

Please don't judge by accent. I speak the Queens English, I could frankly make a fine living as a newsreader, and am a total bitch Wink

Bluebell99 · 01/10/2010 11:19

Well I am quite well spoken too tbh, and I wasn't judging his accent, although it did add a bit of arrogance to his aggressiveness! Grin His colleague who I spoke to next, was really helpful and a bit horrified tbh (am I allowed to mention his accent?! Grin
Basically they said I had ordered something twice, and thus wanted me to cancel and order again?? So I was worried that I might be charged three times!((and it is quite a big order £72 so if they did it three times it would cost me over £200) And I was insisting that I had only ordered once. And also there is major problems with their website.

that's one hell of a lot of coffee!!

Bluebell99 · 01/10/2010 12:17

Yes, so aibu when I am spending £70 on coffee that the person answering the phone should not be patronising, rude and aggressive?! The thing is, this particular coffee as a cappucino is about 30p a cup which does sound expensive until you compare it to Starbucks or Costa, and it means I tend to not go to those companies as much.
But I think i might just go back to filter or jars, except of course I have invested in a machine that only takes their capsules.

nespresso?

amidaiwish · 01/10/2010 14:04

their website is shite...

Ragwort · 01/10/2010 14:07

Genuine question - is it worth getting a nespresso machine? (sorry if that is the wrong term). I am a total coffee snob and drink a lot of filter coffee - would love some 'real life' recommendations. Smile

jameelaq · 01/10/2010 14:24

Just leave him.... or them

NordicPrincess · 01/10/2010 14:49

if you havent recieved a dispatch confirmed email it means there is a problem with your order (your oder has not yet been dispatched), if they have it down several times or their security has asked them to check your details with you before they proceed and no one has contacted you or they have and got to answer and didnt leave a msg the list is endless for things that could have got wrong.

Where i work if you ordered on wednesday it may not be actioned unil thursday and then
sent out either fri or sat if via royal mail it could come sat most likely monday.

If it comes via courier they dont usually deliver weekends so it will be start of nxt
week

Hope this helps

ragwort, I've got a little delonghi coffee m/c, which uses either ground loose coffee or you can by pod things. the machine cost around £70; i've had it around 18 mths, used every day, and it's great! It was a which "best buy" (produces a good "crema" apparently). It can do the frothy milk thing, but not brilliantly, so you can produce a sort of half hearted cappucino, but that side of it is not brilliant TBH. You can make 1 or 2 cups, but you need short cups as mugs won't fit under the nozzle.

Ragwort · 01/10/2010 17:03

Thanks dumbledorina - I'm not that keen on cappucino anyway so it sounds as though it might suit me; especially if you can use ground coffee.
