YABU. Our unison rep dresses quite normally and is definately not scruffy.

YANBU. My mum was a union rep, had 3 kids and worked full time, and still turned up to demos and meetings in a fabulous fake fur coat.
On the other hand she did get the piss taken out of her quite a lot as a fur-wearing socialist, so maybe YABU! .

Much rather have a scruffy rep looking after my interests than an Armarni suited banker ripping me and the country off
