..are really bloody bleak?

He's in I.T. and was made redundant last year, and literally it took him 6 months of non stop hunting to find what he has now. Which is only a rolling contract.

Is everyone else finding it this grim? Am trying not to get fed up but it's really hard, we thought we'd have been able to move out of here by now. Sad

Never give up, funny enough, for some bizarre karmic reason it's generally easier to get a job when you already have one...

Try not to let it get to you, you are doing the best you can, and as fed up as you are, it could always be worse.

hang on in there, you are doing all the right things.

Yes, we are as well, if it's any consolation. For the last 2 years, DH has been doing freelance part-time work but can't get a permanent full-time job.

But it's true, just got to keep going, keep on applying. Eventually one will come through!

Thank you both of you. Fingers crossed things come up for your DH as well petelly, I will cross my fingers for you.

DP was made redundant, and this is his first week out of work... has lots of interviews lined up though...

has he registered with an agency?

bintofbohemia · 29/09/2010 21:20

All the agencies in the world... He's probably findinga bout 5 jobs per week to apply for (we're looking in about 3 different cities) and this week we thought we were going to hear he'd got an interview for a really good one. Just found out at lunchtime he didn't make it to interview stage, hence teh slightly downcast posting this afternoon. Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Magic - what does your DP do?
