To have Simply Red on in the background...

While I mnet?

I can't stand Mick Hucknell, but he appears to be warbling on the TV, and I have found myself absent mindedly singing along.
What the hell has happened to me?, and please tell me it will pass Confused

YABVU. I can´t STAND simply red. Especially that awful fairground song.... aaaagh!!!!

Rockbird · 25/09/2010 22:00

YAdefNBU. I am doing exactly the same thing. Can't bear him but am singing along. DH came in and went to turn it off, when I protested he looked at me in disgust and said 'but you hate Simply Red!'

:o

MistsAndMellow · 25/09/2010 22:00

Fuck me it's on in teh background here too but with the sound turned down! He looks like he is straining . Better turn it up or off I think!

Marjee · 25/09/2010 22:00

It depends, what song is it?

southeastastra · 25/09/2010 22:01

how he has made a 20 year career out of his warbling is confusing to me

KurriKurri · 25/09/2010 22:06

It's an indication of my extreme laziness that I sat through that because I couldn't be arsed to get up and switch over. But it was Mick's swansong apparently, - so every cloud and all that.....Grin

Not only is his music irritating and annoying, but he isn´t even attractive!

KurriKurri · 25/09/2010 22:12

He is quite the enigma isn't he?

How does a man so untalented, manage to sell any records?

How has a man so unattractive and unlikeable managed to shag so many women?

I guess we'll never know.

but that song about babies always makes me cry, ever since I was little. Blush

stressheaderic · 25/09/2010 22:22

THe great ginger man himself is a cock of the highest order. Fair few decent songs though.

FlyingFig · 25/09/2010 22:25

YABU.

I'd rather vomit on my own doorstep than listen to Mick Hucknall singing.

He makes my teeth itch.

ShakenButNotSlurred · 25/09/2010 22:28

Yes you are BU, vile, revolting and twuntish individual that he is.

pinkthechaffinch · 25/09/2010 22:31

DH has a story about how he once accidentally gatecrashed and got thrown out of a Mick Hucknall private party when he used to live in Berkshire twent years ago.

I always tell him it's really not something to be proud of -or indeed EVER mention

kidsncatsnwine · 25/09/2010 22:31

He's revolting....no question!

but 'For your babies' makes me cry too... it is my firstborn's song, It was playing as I delivered her and I will always love it for that!

pinkthechaffinch · 25/09/2010 22:33

FlyingFig · 25/09/2010 22:35

I always used to think that all those 'babes' and 'models' on his arm were a big fat beardy/lavender front.

[insert over-active imagination emoticon]

ramyr · 25/09/2010 22:38

I once let slip to DH that I'd dreamt about Mick Hucknall - it wasn't that sort of dream but he's never let me forget it!

saliz I also couldn't stand Fairground but did like some of their stuff ('For your babies' and 'Holding back the years' were best!) and they definitely remind me of a certain era!

Unsurprisingly DH wouldn't let me watch tonight....

YANBU Smile

FlyingFig · 25/09/2010 22:38

Oh and 'Something's Got Me Started' makes me sing 'Someone's Gone and Farted' instead, in a really childish way....

[idiot]

ApocalypseFlangePop · 25/09/2010 23:00

Ì,m friends with his auntie Blush

LauraNorder · 25/09/2010 23:02

YABU - they're shit! I sincerely hope it is their last time!

KurriKurri · 25/09/2010 23:37

People like you should be sterilised. You make me sick. You are literally worse than Hitler.

Tippychoocks · 26/09/2010 10:21

If Phil Collins and Mick Hucknall had to fight to the death, who would you want to win?

Animation · 26/09/2010 10:22

I watched him a bit too. I was fascinated with how he got the audience to do the high notes on the 'Fairground' song.

Animation · 26/09/2010 10:23

....And I love the thought of coming home to you....
