the bin is not a bottomless pit...

grrr its one of dhs job to take the garbage out.
the main bin is in the kitchen. when it is full, instead of taking it out he just squashes it down "so it can last another two days". by that time it smells and I just have to take it out. but it is overfilled, the sacs can*t cope with the weight and burst on the way to the bin store, preferably halfway down the stairs (3rd floor).
his reply "I was going to do it today..." I left him to clean up the mess instead

I feel your pain. Why do they do this?? Grr.

mysteryfairy · 25/09/2010 18:18

My DH says
it's greener to use less bags
brabantia bin bags are expensive

Actually he's very lazy

borderslass · 25/09/2010 18:23

DH is the same and 9 times out of 10 the bloody bin liner rips.

Goblinchild · 25/09/2010 18:25

Swap jobs around and give him something else to do instead. Oven cleaning? drain unblocking?

PfftTheMagicDragon · 25/09/2010 18:29

I did mention to DH that this is what he will always be remembered for : "I was just about to do it" ....Hmm He is always just about to do something whilst managing to achieve nothing at the same time. It must be a hard balancing act.

He also squashes the bin down.

mousymouse · 25/09/2010 18:31

bf dd 3 times each night? I am sure he would hate that :)

We shared the babies.I got the top and he got the bottom.

sweetcat · 25/09/2010 18:51

Reverse the situation and you've got me and DH. Although emptying the bin is the ONLY thing he does so it might be partly deliberate on my part Grin

QueenStromba · 25/09/2010 19:02

I live with two grown men and if the bin is full they'll just put their rubbish next to it or leave it on the counter. I have a broken toe at the moment so can't clean up after them any more. One of them had a complete strop when I asked them nicely if they could help me out around the house even though I've done all of the cleaning and most of the dishes for the last year and a half that I've lived with them.

pilates · 25/09/2010 19:07

My husband is exactly the same - very annoying.

Goblinchild · 25/09/2010 19:19

That's just insane QueenStromba, you may possibly be Cinderella with amnesia.
Why are you skivvying for two presumably able males?

QueenStromba · 25/09/2010 20:33

Goblinchild: Because if I don't do it they won't. Well one of them will do it with a bit of nagging. The other one normally just has a strop and claims he doesn't make that much mess which is total bollocks because every time I get fed up with the mess and tidy up I'll fill a couple of carrier bags with crisp packets that are strewn over the coffee table and living room floor (he's the only person in the house that eats crips) and his whole bed gets covered in his crap that I've tidied up from the living room. It's honesty like he's a teenager and I'm his mum.
