to let my 5 year old watch some South Park ?

I was watching some South Park at my brothers house when I saw the "Mr Hankey the christmas poo". It was such a funny scene where this poo comes to life and starts singing and dancing around the bathroom and only this boy knows that Nr Hankey exists and when his Dad comes in there is poo all around the bathroom and the boy is holding Nr Hankey, who has turned back to a normal poo and he say "Say something Nr Hankey" and the poo just flops over in his hands.
I thought my 5 year old would love this scene as she's in to toilet humor and also has issues with constipation, so I thought it might help her to see the funny side of going to the toilet. At the moment, she dosn't like going.
Anyway, I played her this scene and she was laughing so much, she thought it was hillarious. It was making me cry with laughter, watching her laughing at it. I stopped it after that scene as there's a lot of swearing in it which I don't want her to hear.
Anyway, it seemed to work as she's now keen to try on the toilet for a "Nr Hankey" and if she manages it she's so excited and starts singing the song.
I'm glad it worked, but I'm sure I'm going to get a flamming. To be honest I think I deserve one. It's not suitable for her age, but it was very funny and it worked. Wink

That scene only I can see the point of - whatever works! But that's different to South Park as a whole. It is meant to look like something that would be appealing to kids.

southeastastra · 24/09/2010 21:00

i remember my older son watching it when he was smaller - most of it goes over their heads

waybuloothebelt · 24/09/2010 21:01

It certainly appealed to her. Grin I have to stop it quickly after as the swearing starts as soon as that scene ends.
She wants to see it over and over again.

we showed just that scene to our children who obviously found it hysterical. Unfortunately a man called Mr Hankey now works at their school!!!!!! I've had to make them promise not to sing it to him or tell other children about it.

southeastastra · 24/09/2010 21:22

omg how funny! i bet he gets so fed up with it Grin

cupcakesandbunting · 24/09/2010 21:23

Shut your fucking face, Uncle fucker,
You're a bone-biting bastard Uncle Fucker,
You're an uncle fucker yes it's true,
No-one fucks uncles quite like you

Yes. I would let my five year old watch any programme that has songs with those lyrics. They're fucking marvellous Grin

mememe30 · 24/09/2010 21:25

I've been tempted to sing it to him.

mememe30 · 24/09/2010 21:25

ha ha!!! I don't think I'll let them watch that one!!

usualsuspect · 24/09/2010 21:26

I love the south park film Grin

Maylee · 24/09/2010 21:28

I think a bit of toilet humour is a good thing Grin

SloanyPony · 24/09/2010 21:29

I was all ready to say "YABU" but no, for just that scene, with your problems, YANBU.

Usual suspect I love the film too. The SOUNDTRACK. WHY DON'T THEY RELEASE IT!!!

So catchy. Love what would Bryan Boytano do.

Also "blame canada....blame canada....its not a real country any-way....."

southeastastra · 24/09/2010 21:29

it's so near the mark but brilliant, i love the one where the internet goes down, for everyone and they have to go to the special internet camp - i was Shock at it

Geocentric · 24/09/2010 21:31

"Ohhhhhh, Kyle's moms a bitch, she's a big fat bitch, she's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world..."

"Bastards. They killed Kenny."

roomonthebroom · 24/09/2010 21:31

Step one instead of ass say buns,
like kiss my buns and your a buns hole

Step two instead of shit say poo,
like bull poo, poo head, this poo is cold

Step three in bitch drop the t,
cos bic is latin for generosity

Step four don't say fuck anymore
Cos fuck is the worst word that you can say
fuck is the worst word that you can say
fuck is the worst word that you can say

YANBU tis very educational :)

EightiesChick · 24/09/2010 23:26

[cough] I'm sailing awaaaaaaaaaay...

Loved the soundtrack and the film may be the funniest ever. The gag rate is so high.

Stretch · 24/09/2010 23:43

LOVE southpark. My mother thinks I'm mad and childish! Grin

Mmmkaay!

charley24 · 24/09/2010 23:55

I let me DD catch some episodes aged 4 which were on in background, she asked MIL at Sunday Lunch what a dildo was..........I didn't let her watch again !

CheerfulYank · 24/09/2010 23:59

YANBU if it's just that scence. The one where the guidance counselor and Ms Chokesondick have sex, well, that'd be another story! :)

StrikeUpTheBand · 25/09/2010 00:03

SloanyPony - they did release the soundtrack for that film - I had it - we used to listen to it a lot (pre-DCs of course!).

Geocentric · 25/09/2010 01:11

My DC like to play on this - you can create your own South Park characters... DH uses it to create his FB pics. Grin

Heracles · 25/09/2010 01:50

I taught my neice the Mr Hankey song not much older than your kid. My sister was ever so grateful as I'm sure you can imagine... Grin
