I know Mr Tumnus wasnt all bad, but I distincly remember thinking as a child, you didnt HAVE to betray the children now, did you! And I could never work out if he was fundamentally good, or evil.

My boss is just like him and I cant help thinking... Hmmm... are you good? Or bad? Can I trust you? Or not? [eyes narrow insuspicion]

Hes a bit shifty anyway. Perhaps its that!

Um... In what way does he look like Mr. Tumnus? Because if it's the goat legs, you are right to be concerned.

VinegarTits · 24/09/2010 16:50

um yes YABU

TrillianAstra · 24/09/2010 16:50

Which Mr Tumnus does he look like? James MacAvoy is rather pleasing to the eyes.

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 16:50

I hadnt noticed hooves but it could be a trick. Just the kind of trick you'd expect from an evil Mr Tumnus!!!

Squitten · 24/09/2010 16:52

Does he look like James McAvoy? If so, I'll come and do your job! Grin

MrsDoofenshmirtz · 24/09/2010 16:53

If he gets out pan pipes and starts to play them run............fast.

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 16:53

He doesnt. He looks more like the dude from the BBC adaptations I think. Or just how I imagined Mr Tumnus!

Skyrg · 24/09/2010 16:54

Mr Tumnus was good anyway, just afraid of the white witch. He helped Lucy eventually!

He also got to Aslan's country (which is basically heaven) when Narnia is destroyed, so he must be good.

Narnia geek alert Grin

MrsDoofenshmirtz · 24/09/2010 16:56

Lucy was scarier in the bbc one

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 16:57

Yeah. All that aside I still look at him and a red warning light goes off in my head. Confused

QueenofDreams · 24/09/2010 16:58

Mr Tumnus is a good guy. He was just weak and scared. He ends up being the children's chief adviser and goes on to be an adviser to Caspian as well Grin

Yabvu Wink

quiddity · 24/09/2010 16:59

He may be good--but does he report to a wolf?

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 16:59

But would you trust him as a boss!

OP posts:
Mammie81 · 24/09/2010 17:00

wholovesyou, you are quite mad.

Mahraih · 24/09/2010 17:01

Mr Tumnus ended up really, really lovely in the end!

He isn't fundamentally good or evil. He represents the doubter in all of us. Easy to see as a 'Judas' type figure, but more realistically considering the eventual outcome, could also signify the apostle Paul, who worked against Christianity, and then became a committed Christian.

He ends up losing his life - albeit temporarily - in what is suggestive of a death and rebirth, or atonement.

God, I love Narnia. It's like a whole other Bible!

Mahraih · 24/09/2010 17:02

Oh, but no, I wouldn't trust him as a boss.

MrsDoofenshmirtz · 24/09/2010 17:03

I wouldn't trust him as a boss he was creepy and he didn't wear trousers.

HotSprocket · 24/09/2010 17:03

MY DP reminds me of Mr Tumnus. His legs are so hairy it's like he is wearing hair trousers.

I trust him, but he does get hot legs.

dinkystinky · 24/09/2010 17:04

I read the title as Mr Tumble and thought too bloody right, there's no way I'd trust him...

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 17:05

See. Not. Mad. Grin

I think its that good/evil quality I dont trust. He just seems a bit... I dunno... sneaky!

OP posts:
MrsDoofenshmirtz · 24/09/2010 17:06

yes duplicitous chap - defo wouldn't trust Mr Tumble either boak.

stubbornhubby · 24/09/2010 17:07

is he fawning on you?

wholovesyou · 24/09/2010 17:10

God no. I go for Bears. Not Fawns. Wink

OP posts:
tribpot · 24/09/2010 17:11

How could Tumnus have advised Caspian? Wasn't he like 1700 years dead by then?

My boss is quite a reserved person and it took me quite a long time to decide if I could trust him or not. But shifty is a different thing. We have another colleague we call Rat Boy as it's obvious from looking at him he's not to be trusted.

stubbornhubby · 24/09/2010 17:12

I think he'll be OK as a boss - but never go round to his place for tea.
