Please no comments about said Radley bag, you either like em or you dont Smile

Anyway I spent £150 on bag last week, I normally buy a £20 animal bag so this was a huge splurge for me and I was very pleased with my purchase.

Yesterday whilst picking ds1 up from school we got caught in a bit of rain, not much, but where the bag got wet its now got huge ark slodges on it Sad

Now when I bought the bag they recommended a cloth to protect it, which I bought, and used as directed before using the bag for the first time.

Surely you shouldnt just be able to take it out in dry weather, and surely bloody cloth should have offered some protection.

AIBU to ring them and ask why this has happened and ask for a replacement?

Yes, take it back, and report the outcome to mumsnet. Oh, and mention how interested everyone will be.
I haven't got any Radley, but if I had I would regard it as an investment and expect it to look good for years.

I bought onw winter 2002 (igloo/penguin one) and it still looks great and it's been worn to death!

I would ring them, when I bought a Radley bag earlier year they emphasised to me that it has a years warranty (I should hope so for £155). It's been fine in the rain (as its black I guess I wouldn't be able to tell anyway), but the toggle that opens and closes the bag has worn quite badly so it'll be going back soon for that to be fixed.

Other Radley's I've had have never had a problem.

yes thats what I thought, the girl in the shop said 'oh it will last and last' blah blah, Ive had much cheaper bags that have faired better than this, my Dune bag ive used now for 4 winter seasons and it still looks fab.

Ooh good result, have just phoned the shop and spoke to manager who says her radley has been 'soaked to the skin' and has dried fine.
She apologised and said if I can take it in this weekend they will offer an exchange or refund Smile

Hi
Good result. Was going to say Radley have good customer service. DH bought me a briefcase from them about 8 years ago. I only used it a few times per year when I was travelling for work. Within 6 months some stitching had come loose so I took it back to John Lewis who had it repaired. Then last year it ripped again in the same place so I took it back to JL because I felt that since it ripped in the same place then the original stitching had not been good enough. JL contacted Radley who gave me a voucher to buy another bag - and they gave me more than DH had originally paid for the bag so that I could buy something I liked from the new range.
