Seriously? YANBU!

ShowOfHands · 23/09/2010 19:04

No more threads on this. Please, I'll rename my dd Buddy Bear if you'll just, for the love of Mary, stop.

prozacfairy · 23/09/2010 19:05

YABU they can always change their names by deedpoll or insist on being called Dave/Jane in a few years.

However his and his wife's choices are a bit Hmm They're naming children not care bears after all.

Hulababy · 23/09/2010 19:06

YABU

Each to their own and I hace def heard worse.

AliGrylls · 23/09/2010 19:12

When I heard it I thought after their previous attempts to name children the Olivers should be banned from having any more children. YANBU.

pinkbasket · 23/09/2010 19:13

YABU.

ShowOfHands · 23/09/2010 19:13

Please. I'll change my name.

chipmonkey · 23/09/2010 19:14

YABU! I love the Olivers and love their baby names! They will grow up among sleb children too and their names are tame by comparison to some.

DetectivePotato · 23/09/2010 19:16

YANBU. Bloody ridiculous names for their kids!! Those poor children when they are at school and then have to go to work.

Skyrg · 23/09/2010 19:17

Yes, because we all want to live in a world where we have so little freedom and where the world 'cruelty' is so randomly used.

I'm sure they are loving and nurturing parents.

What next, arresting people for spelling? Arrested has two Ss btw.

HerBeatitude · 23/09/2010 19:18

It's better than Satchel, Apple or Fifi Trixibelle.

Actually, no it's not.

I got confused by this, I was thinking you meant Oliver James. (I get them confused...)

MmeLindt · 23/09/2010 19:19

The name is actually growing on me.

And the constant harping on about it is getting wearying. Let them be.

sethstarkaddersmum · 23/09/2010 19:19

Chipmonkey makes a good point. If they were called William and Ellie they would probably be bullied by all the little Antarcticas and Moonflower Rockets for having funny names.

ericshen · 23/09/2010 19:22

Imagine if the little fellow becomes the chairman of a big bank or a highflyer in the business world when he is older
Nobody will be able to take him seriously

or the prime minister of GB

Prime minister Buddy Bear. The other world leaders will take the piss out of him something shocking

ShowOfHands · 23/09/2010 19:23

Arrested has two Rs actually.

But, still, leave it. He can call them Flopsy Meatball the Third if he so wishes. Leave them be.

ericshen · 23/09/2010 19:25

Skyrg
I have noticed on MN people like you who point out peoples spelling mistakes on topics they disagree with so do grow up and stop being childish

OP posts:
Skyrg · 23/09/2010 19:25

Ha, you're right ShowOfHands, got distracted by DP coming home with the wrong shopping! Grin Still, I did spell it right...

Skyrg · 23/09/2010 19:28

Ericshen, I have NEVER pointed out someone else's spelling mistake on MN, but frankly your post was so laughable that I didn't think you were serious.

You're telling ME to stop being childish? Hahaha...

If you're going to suggest a drastic change in the law, (making it illegal to call a child a silly name) then you really should spell your suggestion correctly. Just a thought.

Also, 'I have noticed on MN people like you who point out peoples spelling mistakes on topics they disagree with so do grow up and stop being childish' makes no sense at all. What were you actually trying to say? Confused
