i cant STAND it! the voice (nothing against americans-promise).the stupid monkey thing, the pausing to ask your child to 'help' them or to 'ask' them something, the repitition blah blah....

i KNOW its not aimed at me but WFT is it all about??

when i was a kid, we werent patronised like this im sure.

anyone else agree, or AIBU?

YABU

Backpack backpack backpack backpack, i'm the backpack loaded up with things and nik naks too anything that you might need I have inside for you .....

DS (3 3/4) and dd (21mo) love Dora and Diago. They are a bit naff but harmless fun with some simple spanish.

rastababi · 23/09/2010 11:11

YANBU, tis most annoying, and social services really should get on the case, a young child going on adventures alone for days on end with no parental supervision. Tsk.

ShinyAndNew · 23/09/2010 11:16

YANBU. The worst thing about it is the 'shout it with me' @ daft o clock in the morning Angry

Your excited toddler then start jumping up and down in front of the tv screeching "Swiper, no swiping"

Can't they shout it with her at a more reasonable time of day? And even get me started on Hi5 and what they have you doing at stupid o clock.

bamboostalks · 23/09/2010 11:18

Oh Man!

NineTails20 · 23/09/2010 11:19

I was driven nuts by Bob The bloody Builder by DS2.

"Can we fix it?"

Mum muttering under breath: "No, they f*ing well can't!".

Now I'm wishing Disney Channel and Nickelodeon would just go away. There's only so much Sonny With A Chance and iCarly I can take....

NineTails20 · 23/09/2010 11:20

bamboostalks DS2 couldn't manage the 'Oh man!' bit, it always used to come out as 'Oh meeeeee!'. Grin

ifiwereamillionaire · 23/09/2010 17:35

ha ha dd loves swiper and says oh may eeeee nnn

kat2504 · 23/09/2010 17:42

I had to watch back-to-back Phineas and Ferb throughout the school holidays. Grrrrr that annoying song at the beginning.

VoldemortsNipple · 23/09/2010 18:05

Enjoy it while you can

Ive got to put up with Zac and Cody and Wizards of waverley place.

So Feckin Patronizing Angry

strandedatsea · 23/09/2010 18:08

Oh I love a bit of Dora. We've even taken to remembering things the Dora way - carkeys, handbag, mobile pho-one. Yes I know EXTREMELY sad. But so much better than a lot of the junk cartoons.

ginhag · 23/09/2010 18:20

She's so SHOUTY!!!!!!!!

And known in our house as 'dora Dora dora's got a fat head' thanks to dp Grin

forpitysake · 24/09/2010 10:13

LOL rastbabi!

DD couldnt say "oh maaan" either.

she was convinced it was "oh mia" and would get upset if i said it wasnt.

i do love ben and hollys little kingdom though.found myself watching it with a cuppa while DH putting DD to bed (TV still on-didnt turn it on for that). i want to be nanny plum i think.

I'm so glad it's not just me driven mad by the screechy american teenagers on the disney channel!!!!

bluebump · 18/10/2010 18:31

Oh we love Dora in this house but perhaps because we don't have the sky channel it's on, just some DVDs. My DS loves her, and swiper, and boots, and well actually all of it. We spend a lot of time in Spain so he likes to use his new words and charmed all of the old ladies there last time with his "hola" Grin

Swipers "oh man" reminds me of when Janice Dickenson used to say that all the time.

jbells · 18/10/2010 18:32

lol, this thread made me laugh dora is a new one my DD is into at mo so hasnt driven me insane yet, i am however sick of agent oso, and mickey mouse

AmazingBouncingPoltergeist · 18/10/2010 18:36

omg special agent oso. Does anyone else think it sounds like the theme tune is singing his arsehole's special?

No?

Just me?

Shall get me coat. Grin

champagnesupernova · 18/10/2010 18:40

YANBU
I was all up for the spanish learning - my DS is a complete parrot but it's the backpack bit that gets me

wigglesrock · 18/10/2010 18:43

We love Dora here and Diego and I think I may have a voice crush on Handy Manny Blush Special agent Oso, Backyardigans so annoying!!

twirlymum · 18/10/2010 18:53

Big Time Rush is quite amusing (dd is 9), but Spongebob is my favourite. I must have seen each episode many times, but it's still great.
Fireman Sam grates on me. If Dilys Price had more control over Norman, Pontypandy would be a much safer place.

pastahat · 18/10/2010 19:04

YANBU - Dora drives me to distraction though i just about tolerate her for peace to breastfeed DD2 - was v alarmed when DD1 announced dora had been for an adventure in the "farky fark". Luckily turned out to be the Foggy fog... but with dora's accent it did sound v like it...

curlymama · 18/10/2010 19:44

I miss Dora! There's no way my two would be caught watching Dora anymore, far too babyish as far as they are concerned. Sad

I now get to listen to Spongebob, whose annoying squeak of a voice would wipe the floor with Dora's anyday!
