It's not this actual pair of shoes, it's the general style! yuk all the chavs fashion conscious people round my way are wearing them, and I think they are bloody awful! Wears boots, or wear sandals FGS!

I agree.
(old fogey face)
Shoes are so unbelievably ugly at the moment.
I am going to London today on my quest for some (size 9, narrow feet, don't get me started).
I just know I will end up sitting in the sun at Patisserie Valerie instead.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 22/09/2010 08:24

There I was thinking I was the only one. They are just plain wrong. Loads of the mums at DDs school wear them and some of the children too. She wanted a pair in the summer, but due to the extreme thiness of her feet, couldn't have any. I wonder whether they will evolve into something odd for winter or just be ankle boots?

Are the knitted ones a variation of Uggs? DD desperately wanted a pair of either last year. I quite like the sheepskin ones but the knitted ones are horrible.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 22/09/2010 08:28

Maybe someone will join two other items of clothing for a new funky look?! Maybe a skirt/hat, or a sock/scarf?

OP posts:
deaddei · 22/09/2010 08:28

DD also wants knitted Uggs.
I have said if she pays for them herself, fine,
Otherwise no.

Alicetheinvisible · 22/09/2010 08:28

YANBU

I was looking at boots and shoes the other day (new look i think) and couldn't believe how ugly some were.

I will try and find some, hang on....

TitsalinaBumSquash · 22/09/2010 08:31

They are vile.

Alicetheinvisible · 22/09/2010 08:32

WTF?

not keen on these either

maybe i am just very out of touch?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/09/2010 08:33

Fugly. Just utterly vile, cheap and nasty.

Shodan · 22/09/2010 08:34

Aren't knitted Uggs really just slipper socks like my mum has? Not that I've seen any, but mum has a pair of slipper socks from about the 1970s that have plastic soles. They sound very similar.

And those shoessandalboots are horrible.

LinenBasket · 22/09/2010 08:41

awful, agreed

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 22/09/2010 09:20

In my day, we had real shoes! What they need is a nice pair of wallabies!

2blessed2bstressed · 22/09/2010 09:28

Erm, nobody's going to force you to wear them!

mistressploppy · 22/09/2010 09:35

Saggy, I'd pay good money for a sock/scarf! Grin

GMajor7 · 22/09/2010 09:37

I hate those ones that you mention in the op but thought I was just very out of touch.

Wilberoo · 22/09/2010 16:00

Gaaahhhh

LittleMissHissyFit · 22/09/2010 19:01

oh saggy, surely they have to win the prize???

mooncupflowethover · 22/09/2010 19:10

I think they're hideous, but then what do I know, I love crocs! Grin

chenin · 22/09/2010 19:19

I saw someone today with the first link and the last link shoes on... and I HONESTLY thought... (before I had looked properly)..
'oh, poor woman, she has hurt her feet and has bandages on both of them'. It's true!

tethersend · 22/09/2010 19:21

I no longer fear hell.

snoozathon · 22/09/2010 19:25

Lindsay Lohan had an ASBO tag on her ankle and was frequently photographed wearing similar. Possibly the only situation where they become acceptable.
