So today I was loading the DC into the car after the school run and this wanker dog owner is walking this little rat type dog along the pavement next to the school and then it starts shitting right next to the gate where the kids come out! And of course he doesn't pick it up.

The street the school is on leads to a park and there is waste ground about 50 yards away but the amount of dog shit on the pavement is revolting. Daily I have to try and stop DD3 from treading in it as she's only 2 nevermind all the children going in and out of the school.

Don't know what I could ever do about it the kind of arseholes who think it's fine to allow your dog to shit on the pavement wouldn't read a notice would they?

Same thing happened to me, only it was on the walk down to school. I got so pissed off telling my kids to dodge the dog crap that I ended up yelling at the idiot dog owner, and shamed him into picking it up. Smile

I'm reminded of something Billy Connolly once said. He said that dogs are more intelligent than humans. After all, you'll never see a dog stepping into a pile of human shit. :o

FlyingInTheCLouds · 21/09/2010 21:24

tell him to pick it up.

Tell him the kids will/have trodden it in to the school.

I always do when I see people do this.

Only occasionally do they give me any grief, and then it's only a grumble and I'm not very hard Grin.

So I have to confront scary looking man on my own then who would most probably tell me to f* off.

Surely I'm allowed a moan when I am scrapping dog shot off my 2 year olds shoes?

I'm a dog owner and get annoyed that these owners give us a bad name.
The local council will probably have a dog warden you can raise your concerns about the amount on pavements, especially near schools, to.

sweetkitty · 21/09/2010 21:49

Thanks I didn't know about dog mess wardens. I love dogs actually used to have 2, just the idiots who somehow think it's fine to have pavements covered in shit!

Personally, I would have wanted to rub their face in it (the owner's face, not the dog. Definitely not the dog's fault!)

musicposy · 22/09/2010 23:25

I always have bags in my pockets (because I pick up after my dogs, unlike so many thoughtless people out there) and I frequently hand one to other people if I see their dogs do this and they look like they are going to leave it. I've never been confrontational, I just say "Here, I've got a spare bag you can use".

No one has ever refused, even scary looking types! I think they are too stunned. Grin

Complain to the council. It's not on.

hmc · 22/09/2010 23:29

Well YABU for wanting to resort to physical violence Grin

It's horrible though isn't it. Didn't you feel like challenging him? I came across a poster on here who carried chalk with her and drew a large white chalky circle around poo, sometimes annotated with a sarcastic remark next to it. I actually tried it, anonymously (i had to loiter a bit so nobody would see me) near our school. It was the talk of the town! I think it might work because the dog walker gets a very clear message that it is pissing others off (and can't delude themselves that it doesn't matter). I certainly noticed a marked improvement near our school after the chalk campaign
