To think this dad at school is a twat?

I washed and sorted out my children's school uniform yesterday. I noticed that one school jumper wasn't ours and belonged to a boy in DS's class.

I took it in this morning and gave it to the boy's dad. I apologised and said my DS must have bought it home by accident (stating the bleeding obvious Smile). His reponse was 'it's been missing since Friday, why didn't you bring it in sooner?'

I was a bit shocked and said I only spotted it on Monday night when I was ironing.

I then made a joke saying 'oh well it's been washed and ironed'. He then said 'Well it's not good enough it should have come back on Monday'.

Twat. He's lucky to get it back. I haven't had one lost jumper back from Lost Property in the 5 years my dc have been at the school!

ps. My DS is 5 so it's an easy mistake to make.

YANBU

comewhinewithme · 21/09/2010 12:03

He is a twat.

TheBountyMuncher · 21/09/2010 12:04

YANBU. He is a twat.

chimchar · 21/09/2010 12:04

nope, yanbu.

the guy sounds like a prize twat imo!

bigchris · 21/09/2010 12:04

Shock what charm school did he go to?!!

Callisto · 21/09/2010 12:05

He really is a twat. 'Not good enough'? I would have been seriously pissed off had another parent spoken to me like that.

bumpybecky · 21/09/2010 12:05

he's a twat

Blu · 21/09/2010 12:05

He's a twat, and rude, too.

Bast · 21/09/2010 12:05

Yup, TwaT.

But are they in reception? If so, he was maybe unaware of the rarity of the return of lost clothes ...let alone getting them back washed and ironed!

Sazisi · 21/09/2010 12:05

yanbu, he's bloody rude.

gingerkirsty · 21/09/2010 12:05

How bloody rude, any nice normal person would have said "thanks so much for bringing it back, and lovely and clean too!"

Arse.

Fel1x · 21/09/2010 12:06

Twat indeed. My ds lost 3 things on Friday and I got them back today and was over the moon that the other mum had washed and ironed them!

beeny · 21/09/2010 12:06

Can i just say he is a twat of the highest order.

Bast · 21/09/2010 12:06

...I mean unaware that he should be bloody grateful Smile. No excuse for his rudeness though.

bigchris · 21/09/2010 12:06

Maybe he bought a new one over the weekend and that was why he was being a tosser

Greensleeves · 21/09/2010 12:07

did you respond? I would have

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/09/2010 12:07

Obviously it's too late now but you could have claimed that your DS only brought it home on Monday.... I have no personal problem with small lies like that!

prozacfairy · 21/09/2010 12:07

Shock WTF?! YANBU does he think you are his secretary or something? I'd have told him where to stuff the bloody thing.

LoisCommonDenominator · 21/09/2010 12:09

Anyone who uses the phrase "not good enough", especially to reprimand a fellow adult, is a twat.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/09/2010 12:09

He was a twat but, to be even handed, didn't you notice that you had a spare jumper? DD doesn't wear a uniform now Sad but when she did, I would have noticed if she came home with an extra cardigan.

Chil1234 · 21/09/2010 12:10

You see, for these occasions, you need my best friend in tow. Unlike you, me and 99% of the rest of the population who just stand there looking like surprised goldfish in this situation, she always has a pithy bon mot that would have brought this guy to his knees, begging for forgiveness and most probably in tears. This from a few years ago

"It's always the ones with little dicks that are ungrateful bastards"....

helpingout · 21/09/2010 12:10

He is a prize knob

GetOrfMoiLand · 21/09/2010 12:10

This is why we need a TWAT emoticon.

MNHQ? Are you listening? I have been asking for a twat emoticon for months. It is NEEDED! Grin

Amanderrr · 21/09/2010 12:11

Yes, he's a twat.

What did you say to him after he said "It should have come back on Monday" for the second time?
